Ryan Fraser
For a little fella the Earth's gravitational pull seems a lot stronger where ever he is on a pitch.
Bit soft for a Jock as well.

Re: Ryan Fraser
He did really get clattered yesterday.
It's all part of the game. Despite the best efforts of the media and the game's ruling class it remains a contact sport.
But he did take a proper whack.
No foul.
Play on.
The real villain was the diving, cheating Gosling.

Bang on
He was on the ground for a while as he truly did land badly with his head smashing into the turf but it was not a foul.
As for Fraser in general I think he's a very talented player and it goes to show how well Beardsley and Hendrick/Lennon did to keep him very quiet.
Ref completely bottled the Gosling one. If he doesn't book him for diving he has to blow for a foul.

Yes that's worth reminding people.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 1:52 pmHe certainly did but his problem wasn’t the battering from Tarks it was hitting his head on the deck as he landed.
It might not have been clear to the hardy fans who travelled down on the day but he was bloodied from his face slapping the turf.
Whallop.
Great challenge from Tarks.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Brilliant little winger, proper old fashioned type.
Bournemouth got him as a teenager from Aberdeen years ago for half a million quid. Bargain and great scouting.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Wasn’t it reported that he was after a £100k a week contract like Wilson had been given and that contract talks broke down in the summer ?
Since then it looks like he’s decided to walk away on a free which means firstly he can demand a huge wage like the one he was after and secondly we have no chance of getting him.
His form has suffered since he knew he was leaving - he’s been left on the bench a lot whereas last season he was their best player.
Re: Ryan Fraser
We spoke with Ryan Fraser 2 or 3 years ago in a hotel bar in Glasgow after the Scotland v England game there. He was waiting for his sister and spoke quite freely with us for around 20 minutes or so.
The thing that sticks in my mind from that conversation was that he told us that he could never play for Sean Dyche, he said he could never play our type of football.
We told him that we always played with wingers, usually with 2, but he said he would never be interested in playing for us. At that time Bournemouth were flying and winning the plaudits from all & sundry with some excellent football.
Maybe he might think differently now?

He'd still be expected to do a hell of a lot of defensive work. Not very appealing to most attacking players.Targetman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 3:16 pmWe spoke with Ryan Fraser 2 or 3 years ago in a hotel bar in Glasgow after the Scotland v England game there. But like Jeff he can command either bigger wages or a huge signing on fee because they're a free agent.
Seems it's a starting price of 10m straight away now for any player with a premier league start.
Its not so much what we will lose by Jeff going, but how much it'll cost just to put a do a job type midfielder on the bench .

Not sure why Atkinson didn’t card Gosling. He realised there had been no contact but in fairness we quickly got the ball and he was right to play an advantage.the_fat_shearer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 2:14 pmBang on

He was offered a new contract by Bournemouth in summer 2018 but it remains unsigned 18 months on. He was linked with Arsenal and Liverpool so it looks as if he (or his agent) is looking to run down his current contract.TVC15 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 2:59 pmWasn’t it reported that he was after a £100k a week contract like Wilson had been given and that contract talks broke down in the summer ?

The article below the one above expresses my feelings about modern day football and the way it has gone. I love Sean saying that the referee would have had a word and the game continued but referees can't do that any more.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 8:43 amBournemouth skipper complaining about it now.

The problem is that it will only get worse because players are complaining about incidents like the Tarkowski great header. The game is going soft!

That puts him even more out of our league than I thought !
Sounds like he and his agent have already done a deal with another club.
No wonder he was seeing dollar signs when Tarks hit him with that thundering but completely fair challenge !
The fact he has been benched so much also points to both the player and Howe looking to the future.
If he goes to Liverpool problem will be for him is that he will end up playing 6 or 7 times a year like Shaquiri - he even looks like him !!

Re: Ryan Fraser
To say we like to leave a bit in there is absolute nonsense - we are a strong, physical side but, as you say, our disciplinary record is excellent. The two big incidents on Saturday - the Barnes one is an accident and it seems it was all blown up by the ranting Tindall on the line. The second of them, Fraser has got the injury in landing.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:41 amTo say we like to leave a bit in there doesn’t really tally up with our disciplinary record over the past 6 years does it.
Re: Ryan Fraser
He had a word with the referee before the game to warn him about us ?
Unbelievable - actually very believable...that’s the way the game has gone. Anything they can do to influence officials...typical Mourinho and Sir Alex stuff sowing seeds of doubt into the referee.
Irrespective of the fact that they have a worse disciplinary record than us.
And again more comments about our style of play - pretty rich coming from a team who has scored more set pieces than anyone else in the league and from a player who isn’t exactly in the team for his beautiful football.
Tindall is a nasty piece of work - always has been. And don’t be fooled by baby face Howe - he is the one who instigates these tactics and employs idiots like Tindall to be by his side.
Odious little club propped up by a corrupt billionaire - would love them to go down.

Re: Ryan Fraser
I don't think we're actually all that strong and physical. We appear so against "lesser" teams, but we often look physically weak when we come up against the top sides like Man City and Liverpool. They have great skill but their players are also incredibly powerful and our players are often totally out-muscled. I would say we are about average in the division when it comes to strength, and nothing like as rugged as the old Pulis / Allardyce /Stoke-type teams.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:48 am- we are a strong, physical side but, as you say, our disciplinary record is excellent.

If we were a dirty side we would have kicked Son in the Spurs game as he set off on that run - just like Dier and Sissoko kicked McNeil every time he set off on a run when he moved into a more central position to try and get on that ball.
As for Stoke they had a team of virtual assassins in true Crazy gang style - lads like Shawcross were animals. It’s hard to think of many times when Mee, Tarks etc have put in a really bad tackle under Dyche. We must have one of the lowest number of red cards in the last 5 years

Re: Ryan Fraser
In the 6+ years that Howe and Dyche have been at their current clubs, Bournemouth have never had fewer sendings off than Burnley in any season. They have a decent record, but not as good as ours - we have fewer sendings off in Dyche's time than any other Premier team. (Or any other team in any division, for all I know.)
For that matter, we aren't a big side either. After the Palace game, some of their fans were complaining about the size and physicality of Burnley - but their side was more than an inch per man taller than ours.

We beat them without getting out of 2nd gear and to have no shots on target at home is embarrassing...tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 10:40 amMakes the late winner all the sweeter i hope they enjoy their sour grapes,Bournemouth are fortunate the bottom 3 can't string results together, sadly they've got a reasonable run of fixtures coming up against teams in the bottom half,so they'll likely clamber away from danger.

They've been poor for a couple of months now,and you have to wonder do they have the bottle for a relegation scrap, their win at Chelsea is looking more like a fluke compared with their other recent results,if they're still around the bottom 3 by the end of the transfer window,Eddie might be concerned, but they usually hit a purple patch during the season.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 11:30 amI’m not so sure they will clamber away from safety tbh. Nice of Francis to brazenly admit that he tried to influence the referee before the game.
Also telling that the worst challenge of the game was the cowardly whack that Billing gave Barnes which inexplicably wasn’t punished by a red card.

Anyone ask him why with all the money England's Ajax spend and all their beautiful football why Bournemouth have got 19 points from 18 matches? And finished 14th last season? And 12th the season before?

Re: Ryan Fraser
I'd love to know what planet this lad and his agent are on, we're in the midst of a global pandemic, finances are uncertain to say the least, and yet he thinks he'll get mega money, the game's gone mad it truly has.
Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser is hoping to land a summer move to Everton after becoming the first Premier League star to reject a short-term contract extension, according to the Daily Mail.
It is understood the winger wants more than £100,000 a week to sign as a free agent, according to The Times.
I know he's a free agent, but is he that good to justify that salary, the game is losing it's marbles if so.
I genuinely thought with all the outside factors this would be a watershed moment for football, and it'd start living in the real world, it appears my hope was wrong.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Personally I wouldn't blame any player for not wanting to play on past June 30th. One bad injury and it could mean no income for 2 years, worst case scenario career over, particularly for the older one's. They have families to support and mortgages to pay just like everyone else.

I really can’t understand why Bardsley and Hendrick haven’t even been offered contract extensions to the end of this season let alone longer term extensions. Both are apparently training with the team and looked, from the photos on this forum, quite happy. Surely they will be needed for the hectic schedule ahead.
