Re: Joe Hart
We'll have a goalkeeper shortage at this rate.

Re: Joe Hart
Expected he would go to China or America. Shame but he needs to play. His reputation here has been damaged too much so cant blame him going for a big payday.
Re: Joe Hart
Hopefully we can now bring in a strong number 1 with Pope as backup
Re: Joe Hart
Thought that was what the birdman was brought in for

Re: Joe Hart
Hopefully beginning of Jan. Big wages freed up.
Re: Joe Hart
Tear up his contract, gives us 40k a week spare in wages, and him some much needed game time.
Also allows BPF to get into the matchday squad and start being involved in the group and learning the ropes

Re: Joe Hart
"Tearing" up his contract will not free up his wages. It's a contract.

Re: Joe Hart
As much as I like Hart and think he is easily the best backup keeper in the league, if we are on 27 points plus by January it would be a wise move for all concerned. Definitely not the future and will be on a fortune.
If we were on the same points as last january it would be foolish to get rid of such a quality backup with only a young kid in the wings.

Re: Joe Hart
You cancel it by mutual consent, he says bye bye to the 40k a week he's on here, and hello to about 80k a week from his new employer.
Costs the new club no fee, we save his wages, he gets a pay rise.
It's a win win for all.

Re: Joe Hart
Hope Peacock starts vs Peterborough.
He needs more competitive games.

Re: Joe Hart
That's a very good point about Pope being able to learn from Hart - and probably Heaton too last season. Perhaps offsets to a certain extent the size of his contract relative to his game time in the last 12 months.
When you look at the goalkeeping debacle at West Ham once their first choice got injured it really puts Joe Hart's quality - as a back-up - into perspective.
