There is a correlation between these incidents recurring where previously they appeared to have almost vanished and the referendum vote, just as there has been a resurfacing of demonstrations by the go-home league or whatever they are called in places like Newcastle where they have been meeting up every 3 weeks or so ever since.
It's as if these views had been packed away under the carpet for a decade or so and suddenly out they pop and we can't put the Cork back in the bottle easily.
I suspect that the people who are that way are inclined view the referendum result as an endorsement that their nasty views are mainstream again and the letter box watermelon comments show that the pm now has views like them too, but he's just a bit in the closet.
For most of us, this is complete crap, but I don't think it is for the minority who still harbour white/British supremacist tendencies.
Have you ever wondered why paedophiles are so prevalent today, its not because there are a lot more paedophiles than 30, 40, 50 years ago, it's just because it gets reported a lot more.
Racism is obviosly nowhere near as prevalent as in the past, but it gets reported more. Would black players from 10, 20 years ago have complained to the referee the way Rudiger did, of course not.
Brexit has nothing to do with it. Nor do Boris or Corbyn, who in their right minds thinks oh Boris is a racist, i think I'll be one too. Racism is learnt from parents or peers, or both, but not political leaders, certainly not in this country.
Whatever we've been doing for the last 50 years is working, so why try and undo all that good work, by using a sledgehammer to crack a peanut. We demean ourselves by making out this tiny minority, are representative of the British people.
