Our position in the table is very flattering, our midfield is extremely poor.

West Brom and Leeds are better than us. That's how bad it currently is.KefkaClaret wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 4:55 pmOur position in the table is very flattering, our midfield is extremely poor.
Re: Did a Premier League team
We absolutely stink under this manager.
But we'll stay up again with this anti-football so I suppose all is well.

Re: Did a Premier League team
utterly bizarre decision and desperation. only positive was the back five. but they can't be expected to not concede when our passing and ball retention was so poor. wish I hadnt bothered.

Re: Did a Premier League team
We could have played Aguero, Kane and Aubameyang up front today and it would have made no difference. Our midfield is not worthy of the name. They can't hold the ball. Can't beat a man. Created nothing. Repeatedly gave the ball away, ultimately McNeill cost us the game. Poor, poor, poor and it has been that way for 3 years. Long upfront was the most ridiculous thing I have seen tried. If that was the answer I would hate to have seen the question.

Re: Did a Premier League team
I’m sure there will be plenty on v Man Utd but if the football stays as it is I think we’ll start to see some more empty seats. Good defending is one thing but there has to be some sort of attractive football or attacking threat at some point in the game.

Re: Did a Premier League team
The Chairman has made it quite clear that he is happy if we finish 17th. That is the business model that they work to. Anything above that is a bonus. This means that it is highly unlikely that the squad will be strengthened mid season. The fact that most fans think we seriously need to strengthen the midfield will, I suspect, not bother him. I believe that to now be a very risky strategy.

Fitted in with our tactics: for 80 mins we were playing the 'long' ball

Our game plan worked for 80 minutes. We played the same way in the last two games and picked up six points.

But still
Kevin Long up front in a PL game is shambolic !!
Read the accounts instead of watching the game, that's the first priority.
Season tickets frozen, record profits and 17th Is the first 3 aims of the season for proper supporters.
The football quality, style or entertainment factor is way down on the list of priorities. Just the way it is here.

Not likely to happen but every likelihood that that they stay at home and not attend at all. A very bizarre statement to make after a woeful display that was genuinely unacceptable.

Dont agree with most of the criticism of our style and methods because I find it extreme and lacking perspective, but I've even less time for this sort of response
You might as well write "no supporter has a right to want to enjoy watching their team play, or to be unhappy if they dont". Which is frankly nonsense.
We need as many fans as possible to be happy, engaged and up for buying tickets as possible. Which means those sentiments count.

I thought that he actually played as an attacking midfielder/No 10, not an out and out centre forward.

If that's the best we can do after 5 or 6 years of TV money then serious questions need to be asked.

What's wrong with you people? Dyche clearly giving him sone game tine for when Tarky picks up his 5th suspension booking against United and he has to start against Villa. He put him up front so He could get his range for where the long punts have to land

Sure. We can blame the weather, injuries blah blah but we really are a poor football side. Sheer grit, determination, togetherness will keep us in this division again but as an entertainment business I'm getting very little. What is worrying is the decline in sales in home areas, that must be setting off alarm bells.
