21 points away in 2019

Post by ClaretTony » Thu Dec 26, 2019 10:38 pm

5 wins, 6 draws, 8 defeats in the calendar year. We've scored 24 goals too in those games while conceding 32.

But..... they aren't being coached properly, McNeil needs a rest, people are glad they don't go (and they keep telling us all) and most of all...... Dyche Out!

More than half of those 21 points were from less games last season (Jan to May).

Don’t worry - it gets worse from the doom mongers. We have our resident Dyche hater KRBFC now saying we were played rubbish football when we won the championship and went 23 games unbeaten.
We could win the Champions League and we’d still get some fans complaining Dyche should have put out a stronger side in the Carabao cup

Take it up with the calendar year if it doesn't count.

Not sure what your point is to be honest CC.
We still have a decent away record this season. And we should have beaten Wolves and drawn v Leicester.

If we had a poor record this season you might have a point !!

It would be one more point than we got this week and equal to what we deserved last week...

Nice stat.

Though, if people like BOT could have turned up just for the goals in those wins, they would have done. Not proper fans really, and they should go to Ewood if they don't like it.

You mean last week when we had one shot on target and the opposition had none ? Are you saying that Bournemouth deserved to win or draw that game despite not having a shot on target ?

I dont think either deserved to win. Hence suggesting a point was what was deserved.

Ha ha ha, good memory my man marker. :D

What I find is, that no one is too bothered about folk being critical (yes we were shite again today) but when they just find their log in details for losses and go on about the same crap over and over again, then it becomes boring.

We scored a goal from the one decent move of the game.
I’m not saying we played brilliantly - clearly we didn’t. But we deserved to win slightly more than they did because we did at least have one attempt on target.
Not sure how you can think a team playing at home against such a bad team as so many of our own fans posting on this forum obviously think we are can deserve to get a point in a game they cannot get one attempt on target in 95 minutes.

I dont think we are such a bad team.

I do think occasionally a draw would be a fair result. Doesn't always have to be winner. And in a game like last week's where it took almost 90 minutes for the first effort on target a draw was definitely fair. We were both poor and both happy with a point.

Thanks, I do have a good memory. Which is why I know that if you think we were shite again today you obviously weren't there in the dark days of the late 80s/ early 90s. Then you'd have something to complain about, young man.

I don’t think we deserved a draw today - we just didn’t do enough and whilst the defence nearly got us out of jail with a brilliant display the rest of the team were so poor and Everton deserved to win without a doubt.
Last week you are right - not much in it and both teams as bad as each other...but if you produce one bit of quality in a game it does not matter whether it’s 1st or 89th minute - especially when the other team cannot even muster one piece of quality at all !

Dont disagree.

The only positive spin I can put is that Dyche was clearly happy with a nil nil with both. Last week we got lucky late on, this week we didn't late on.

Had both been a draw we would've taken 2 points. As it happens we took 3. So alls not bad...

and it would be way more if we showed intent to string a few passes together, Not taking a singe thing away from our achievements but we are way better than we show most weeks imho. Our players are more than capable at this level

I would ask how many on here expected 24 points after 19 games... I would surmise not many...

But reckon most would have snapped your hand off in August ...

Newcastle probably deserved a draw at TM. Not only did we not create anything, but they missed a sitter with Gayle's chance. It's the margins that Dyche always talks about and luckily in that game and Bournemouth we were on the right side of them.

Probably the best summary to down play the hysterics, but we must improve, especially given our next run of fixtures.

Just have a look and work out how much the messiah has wasted these last few years and then you might see why the board are reluctant yet dyche has the cheek to question money every window

Don't more realistic fans find these sort of comments quite tedious and asinine. I guess the point is existing fans will continue to watch Burnley as I do whilst not liking what I see but new fans will be thin on the ground as they will look elsewhere.

They will not go to Ewood but they will go to Manchester/Liverpool.

It's not just new fans. People who have watched us for years and years are starting to lose interest. They won't go and support somebody else but they might not bother renewing their season tickets. Look at the drop in our away followings.

Thank goodness we got Watford and Bournemoth away twice in the same calendar year, makes that stat look extremely impressive.

They must hate playing us

And for some balance Palace stole 3 points off us
The number of chances we had we should have won that game

Turf will be empty next year with the apparent number of fans who won’t be renewing their season tickets....
