Re: Our passing
We certainly lack the basics at times, and it's not just one or two players having
an off day, it's most often the whole team that treat the ball like a hot potato and something
to be got rid of as soon as possible in any direction that happens to be available. I'm not saying that
this is the case all the time, but it is becoming more and more prevalent.
Confidence in football is a big thing and sometimes we seem to lack it big style.

Re: Brighton
Brighton are playing good attractive football because that is what their managers instructs them to do. I don't believe, on the whole, they have better players than us, I do believe their manager has more flair than ours though.

Re: Our passing
I’ve been smashed to pieces on this board for suggesting that we have very few players with the technical ability to play football in tight spaces. You only had to watch Drinkwater during his camo to see that he was always on the half turn when receiving the ball. With the exception of Hendrick, Bardsley and Dwight we don’t have any other players who can play this way.

With their zero chance of Everton going down, I'd prefer it if they win.

Re: Brighton
Not aware of the source of the information of the table shown in Joey13's post but the comparison indicated of Brighton and Burnley is wholly inaccurate. They appear to have used data from the accounts of both Clubs to financial year ended Jun'18 but the current comparable figures are completely different.
Burnley's Wage bill of £81m to Jun'18 included bonuses of £23m for finishing 7th, so the figure to Jun'19 is likely to be less in total. Brighton's Wage bill to Jun'18 was £77m but increased by almost a third to Jun'19 to a whopping £101m.

They spent the best part of £80m in transfer fees this summer. You conveniently forgot about Webster and Trossard...

I'd say there isn't one other team in the entire football league that adopts our style of playFactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 1:51 pmLiterally every team in the Prem play better football than us. And I'd say at least 3 or 4 in the Championship play better football than us.

Re: Brighton
The Brighton fans I work with seem very happy with their performance s this season. They are much better entertained even if not getting many more points.
They also seem to have binned most of their worst offending divers.

Re: Our passing
This.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:50 pmTechnical ability is what we lack. And there is certainly a valid argument that with the time SD has been here, he should really have brought in more technical players. There are Championship clubs who pass and control the ball better than us.
Dyche always states it's a results business, he obviously sees his best chance of achieving 17th position or higher is through playing the percentages and grinding out results - his recruitment strategy is supporting this.
If he decides to change his approach, he puts pressure on himself to implement a new style successfully whilst also picking up sufficient points to avoid the drop. When there are so many teams failing to do this over recent years, you can see why he takes the approach he does.
