Not handball. Not sure why it took them so long. It was obvious on the first replay.

Did at first glance look unusual bounce and his arm was up but 100% a goal for me

came off his shoulder, 100% correct decision - no surprise Anthony Taylor got it wrong in the first place though, utterly inept referee

Absolutely disgraceful to rule that goal out. Its quite simple imo to solve this bar scrapping VAR and that is give stockley park 10 seconds to make the decision as thats plenty of time if its "clear and obvious" and if they dont make a decision you stick with the onfield call

If you can score with your shoulder.

Why are they using armpits to judge offsides.

There are far too many goals being judged offside for cm. when the ball being kicked cannot be judged well enough.

It’s madness and it’s ruining the game.

I just can't understand why there is all the fuss.
FIFA wanted it, Media wanted it, reported that the Managers wanted it, reported that the PGMO wanted it and many, many fans wanted it so just accept it and get on with whatever game it is that they are playing these days.

Football, as we older fans knew it, is dead and it will be helped into the grave by more digital aids in the future. Goal line technology = superb, everything else is totally unnecessary and has ruined the enjoyment of a game played by humans, which used to be officiated by humans (just 3) and is now being spoiled by those who run the game and the use of digital technology.

Whether it gets decisions right or not it's ruining the match for the spectator. Ends up being a bigger talking point than any skill on show.

Yeah wanted it on the back of a great world cup where it was used perfectly and the referee made the decision. If everyone who was in favour for VAR thought this is what it would be like then I'm sure the answers would have been different

I said it yesterday, it's getting beyond a joke now, it's killing football as a spectacle. Even Souness has just said its a joke!

Another reason to think twice about renewing next season. This whole VAR carry on is just ruining the game completely.

Great thought process from Souness. If any part of the players body is onside then the goal should stand.

We'd just have the same problem with whether any part of him was onside. That's not the solution.

Get Referees out of Stockley Park and have an independent assessor.

Stop this ridiculous armpit rule... Defenders are naturally leaning away from goal and atrackers towards goal make it the feet that count and it has to be at least a boot on/offside....

If the feet are onside, then the goal stands. You know, like it used to be. This whole 'his armpit is offside' is just dogshit.

I'm sick to the back teeth of VAR. We are watching humans play football, not some kid playing Fifa on the PS4. Talk about sapping the joy out of the game. I hope it's binned before next season starts.

If it takes so long to make such a decision that must be aided by lines separated by the thickness of a gnat's foreskin then it's not a clear and obvious error. If an opposite decison cannot be correctly made with the naked eye then, again, it's not clear and obvious.

The biggest problem in recent weeks is Taylor getting decisions wrong, which VAR have had to overrule, if he'd got them right we wouldn't be talking about a lot of VAR, it's only been putting right what our awful refs are getting wrong, which is fine. I agree offside needs tweeking.

Clear and obvious doesn't apply to offsides

I never knew how much I'd miss a ref and 2 linesmen. All those wrong decisions, vital decisions that those 3 used to make and all those what if's, they're all worth putting up for in the end, that's part of the magic of the game. 2 things now I desperately want back in football...standing up and dodgy ref decisions.

The controversy in this game is the offside and in no way can Taylor be blamed for that.

You obviously didn't watch the Womens' World Cup, which was another year down the line, therefore, meaning that it shoud lhave been better than the World Cup. It was a joke in many respects but lots of people just blamed the ladies and said that it would be fine in the Premier League.
We are now seeing the results and it will only get worse!

I'm saying it should apply. Being a cm offside that can only be determined by a delay and lines is turning things into a farce. Something needs to change anyhow.

Exactly. Among other idiotic VARisms, this is one of the betters. Take the lack of understanding of margin or error, and that the armpit is actually a 3D pyramidal structure with no clear definition of where it starts, then it is more than an absolute farce.

If we did a snap survey, I'm sure over 90% of fans would say get rid now. But they authorities will make up some nonsense about how they are happy with its progress and implementation, and we are heading for a world of pointlessness.

It's either still a subjective decision, or an "objective" decision using guidelines and technology which aren't fit for purpose.

Make it absolutely clear and obvious overrules or nothing. And let the onfield ref decide

RIP Football

Offsides do not come under the banner of clear and obvious error ---you are deemed to be onside or offside by the technology available.
The shoulder ball is seen as a clear and obvious error, however, had it happened in the Championship or any other English League, the decision would have been accepted, rightly or wrongly and the game would have continued. The offside goal farce would not have happened because the AR did not think there was an offside.

All that VAR is doing is undermining the onfield officials who, in the grand scale of things make very few errors in the eyes of the unbiased observer, but who are now being overruled by someone who is not even anywhere near the game.
It is also not doing a thing to stop players falling over at just the slightest touch and, sad to say, things will only get worse.

Dyche has said on numerous occasions that he’s all in favour of VAR.

Is this because it slows the game down, which suits our style of play?

It's becoming a joke now, even the MOTD pundits are fed up discussing VAR decisions, rather than the fare on the pitch.

What happened to giving the attacker the benefit of the doubt, none of the "offsides" this week were clear on the initial replay,it's only when they freezeframe the incidents and slow them down, that you might find a toenail or thumbnail offside, and even that's debatable.
