Blackburn’s debt grows...
I see that Blackburn’s accounts are out, or at least the Venky’s London Ltd ones, which are almost the same thing.
More sizeable losses and a growth in debt. Staggering.

If the Venkys pull out they are finished.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
Serious question. How can they continue losing 20m a year? Is it literally the venkys plugging that 20m with their own money?
I genuinely dont understand how or why theyd do that unless theyre bad gamblers and chasing what theyve lost.
The strange thing is its not like theyre funding a big transfer spree on top players.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
Been quite a decade for Rovers - though given the Venkys ownership / Steve Kean / Shebby Singh / managerial carousel / relegations / debts etc... they’re not doing THAT badly in the grand-scheme of things.
Owners sticking with them, solid management team, flirting with the playoffs in the Championship. I was expecting it to be a lot worse really

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
That's the Venky's losing money, not Blackburn Rovers.
Be interesting to see the club's accounts though.

Venkys London is Blackburn Rovers, isn’t it? Venkys in India are doing fine.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
Venkys can write the debt off. 1 season in the Pl will sort the problem out maybe. Or they pull the plug and leave Blackburn like Bolton in a mess.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
It is the VLL accounts, and BRFC’s won’t be out until March. BRFC are the only company under the holding company that is VLL, so the accounts are pretty much identical, and it why they’re generally used as a good guide.ClaretAndJew wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 10:58 amThat's the Venky's losing money, not Blackburn Rovers.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
It would take 5 seasons at the very least - their are operating costs to life in the PL and their ground would need significant expenditure to get it back to the required levels of the modern PL

They can it's chicken feed to them pardon the pun, I can't see them throwing enough money at it to get to the PL or them being fortunate enough to scramble into the playoff's & succeed there, Will end up a mess eventually just a question of when.

Significant expenditure isn’t an issue, if Rovers need the money - Venkys will release itChester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 11:08 amIt would take 5 seasons at the very least - their are operating costs to life in the PL and their ground would need significant expenditure to get it back to the required levels of the modern PL

This can be a very gloomy time of year financially for a great many people.
But that's one set of accounts that make me chuckle and feel elated to read.

Costs a lot of money to fund a very average Championship side.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
What I mean is, that at the moment, Venkys are more like a life support machine. IF Blackburn won promotion to the Premier League, Venkys will back them - quite handsomely, I reckon. They were ripped off by the likes for Jerome Anderson and his cronies and been lumbered with the club. Since then though, the ship has been steadied.
They have been financially backed in League One and The Championship more than most over clubs

Has the debt reached the point whereby they are impossible to sell?

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
People think Venky’s are wealthier than they are. “They’re multi-billionaires” as far as some Rovers fans think. I’m not saying they’re not rich, of course they are, but they don’t appear on the Forbes India rich list, and their profits, when you do the conversation which is no easy feat, has had them making under £100m net a lot of years.
There are around a dozen companies in their group adding to that net profit, all separate from Blackburn Rovers, and where Venkateshwara have protected themselves with the holding company which is VLL. The only way Venky’s will be able to back BRFC with genuinely serious cash is by selling other, profit making, assets, surely? Why would they do that?
I suspect if they ever got back to the Premier League they’d look to sustain for a season and get out. Trying to recoup as much of their investment as possible.

I said I couldn't care less what happens down the road and that includes the LT
So there you have it, I hate the Trolls that frequent the Lancashire Telegraph (and other sites .......)
I couldn't care less about Blackburn Rovers .... go Troll someone else

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
The injury to Dack wont help future accounts.
Rumours of a Jan transfer, 20 million?
Now they've lost their leading goalscorer, no transfer fee and concerns about whether he`ll be anywhere near good as before the ACL injury

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
I've never understood the Venkys endgame for Deadwood, I really haven't. Cant see what they're getting out of it.
Maybe they're so rich, they've forgotten they own it.

Re: Blackburn’s debt grows...
Substitute Venkys of Pune for Eddie Davis of the Isle of Man and Rovers for Bolton and you have identical situations.
