tHE THREAT OF A cYCLONE IN mAURITIUS .
The Meteo announced that all have to take precautions as there was an imminent cyclone which may strike our small island .it remained stationary on the east coast about 100 kms from land . eventually it moved away at the rate of 10 kms per hour .However the velosity in some specific areas was 91 kme ph .it was benefecial to us in two ways , it brought a lot of rain which was good for our agriculture .Secondly befor the announcement of the cyclone the prevalent heat was unbearable .

in each village and town tere is at least one cyclone shelter meant to those who live in humble conditions .Generally people are well protected as they majority live safely in concrete houses .
eventually the cyclonedisappeared and sunshine is back but it is quite hot but very bearable .
