Not sure if that link will work but it’s on the BBC Sport website, talks about becoming a head on a stick at Burnley

He had the choice of playing further down the leagues where he would have got more playing time. He wasn't going to displace Barnes or Wood, especially the way they played in last season's back end.

He was playing in the Premier League at 38, and he thinks he was a just being used as a ‘head on a stick’?!

Nothing degrading about being used to your strengths when most players have retired 5 years before you.

he is so dull, a lad's version of footie nonsense, talk sport should pay him to drone on endlessly with his awful anecdotes.

I don't see much wrong with what he said. He was a 'head on a stick' at Stoke in the end too - he doesn't specifically mention Burnley here. He's also complimentary to Dyche regarding his career ending.

I don’t disagree, I just wonder what he was expecting as he comes across as one of the more intelligent footballers.

Dyche said last week we offered him another year, but Crouch declined it to concentrate on his media work.....

Let that sink in a little bit

The BBC also quotes Crouchie as saying:

"[Dyche] has a tough exterior, but I've found him to be such a top man. I still speak to him now because I shared something with him. I was going through a tough time with the retirement and he was first class with me.

"I can't thank him enough."

Some people just can't resist having a go at Crouch, who had a good career and appears a very decent bloke.
It's clear from the interview that he wasn't in a "great place" when he left Stoke for us and he pays tribute to Dyche for helping him through it

The guy did all he could to not be that type of player, always had great close control for a big man. He was deceptive with his feet a lot.

No prizes for guessing who he's referring to.

Crouch was a very good player 10 years ago, last season when he was playing for us he wouldn’t have been a starter at any side above League Two level.
