Re: Best home performance of the season vote
Based on performance, I'm surprised the Derby game is leading. They arguably played better than us and deserved something from the game.

QPR was all about getting over the line, and they didn't make it easy for us. Most nervous game this season by far!

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
Waste of time imo. Just because we won doesn't make it a good performance. May as well as head it " best home win of season" strong very strong performances in some home draws.
Re: Best home performance of the season vote
I went Forest as I thought some of our football especially the first half was sublime. Forest defended so well that if they hadn't we could have been 5 or 6 up.

I'm probably being incredibly dumb here but how do I vote? Attached is an image of what I see, I'm on my phone and where claret tony says to vote below his comment nothing appears? I'm confused. Technology doesn't agree with me it seems.

thelaughingclaret - either someone from the same IP has already voted, or you've clicked on 'view votes'.

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
Derby without doubt we made them pay pushed them into mistakes and shear panic.
The entrance fee alone was worth it to see Shackles face on his mistakes and two real howlers it was to
They scored a very good goal to equalize but we harried them at every opportunity and blow them away again and they were top or thereabouts at the time
It showed how we as a team made of full blooded determination and commitment fashioned a win or draw in any circumstance UTC

We were very fortunate against Derby, how that's well out in front for performance is beyond me.
Each to their own though.

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
we played well against derby and deserved the result - only the 4th goal had a real element of luck about it.
best performances were against forest and hull, only some very good defending from forest prevented it all being comfortably over by half time.
interesting that you can look at that list and struggle to pick out a really top notch home performance, whereas there are a good few to choose from on the away list. shows the respect teams have had for us and how difficult they've made it at turf moor.

Probably because one is home and one away but as I didn't start either thread (unlike you starting multiple Scottish cup threads!) You'd need to ask Tony!rayzer wrote:why do we need 2 threads leisure

The ending against boro was great, but the actual overall performance was pretty poor.

Actually I did, and quite frankly thats why so many other supporters have voted for it but we must have seen something in it you did not or maybe you never so itFactualFrank wrote:So I can be sure about one thing - you never watched the game.

We actually played very well against Reading after a terrible start. Far better than in some of those victories.

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
I don't mind people not agreeing, but all 4 goals were fortunate. And Derby more than matched us. In fact - had we lost that game we couldn't have been too disappointed. 4-1 in no way respresented our performance.Longside4evr wrote:Actually I did, and quite frankly thats why so many other supporters have voted for it but we must have seen something in it you did not or maybe you never so it

I went Fulham. Thought we played well in the most part against them but I'd have gone Boro if it was on the list.

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
Hull...great to get the three points from a top rival at that point.
Re: Best home performance of the season vote
BFCJG, totally agree as I also voted Forest.
I am amazed of the lack of votes.
Excellent football at times.

Probably my poor memory, but I honestly can't say I remember us ever wowing at home all season.

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
We didn't really 'wow' at any home performance, you're right. The scoreline flattered us against Derby, which incidentally I chose as our best performance.
Personally, I think the best performance was actually the draw to Middlesbrough at home. We had to work really hard that night, the toughest opponents for sure this season.

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
We didn't have any outstanding home performances this season but Derby stands out as the one game that epitomises everything we stand for.
Derby were clearly better in the first 45 but our defending was outstanding. Given all their possession and quality they only managed one goal in a dominant 45 minute display; and that was a "worldie". It took something very special to beat us.
The second half was the other side of the coin. We pressed higher, forced errors and took the game away from Derby in a devastating 10 minute spell. You can argue Derby played the better football but we were vastly more effective / productive!

Re: Best home performance of the season vote
Notably harder to pick a winner from the home games as the team was much better away from home.
I chose Derby as it was probably the most enjoyable and summed up the difference between the 2 teams. The good run had already begun but I think it must have given the whole team a big lift. Meanwhile the doubts started to creep in for Derby!
