Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Yes, I know it may come as a big shock, but Sean Dyche says it’s unlikely we make an additions this coming month.

We could have taken a major step to safety today, as is we are now looking to a difficult second half of the season.

Posted a seperate thread about this earlier. Same old same old. What a load of rubbish. Embarassing if true.
Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Hopefully it’s all just a bit of reverse psychology as when Mike Garlick has told us in the past we’d splash the cash we’ve ended up doing diddly squat!

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Good, wouldn't trust dyche with money, especially not in Jan.
Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Dyche just signs sub standard bench warmers or heads on sticks I really wouldn't trust him with money.
Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
You gear yourself up every window for disappointment, and it still ends up, somehow, eclipsing the previous window. It's the bloody hope that kills you!

Sounds like it’s up to DD whether he wants to stay. Why would he? So we’d be down to 2 CM plus Hendrick.

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
A mantra that needs to change.
Whether that requires Dyche to change approach, or Garlick to loosen the purse strings, I'm not sure - but I suspect its a bit of both. We can't expect to get risk-free signings for gamblers money.

I certainly hope so, we have to believe that this abysmal run of games has changed this view of Dyche and the board

The scary thing is, I think it will actually go the other way as I do think the board have always had plans if we go down. Signing someone now I'd say is even more unlikely.HyperClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 4:26 pmI certainly hope so, we have to believe that this abysmal run of games have changed this view of Dyche and the board

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
A grim prospect if true - we should never be aiming to bounce straight back up from the Championship as Plan A while we're still kicking in the Premier League, it's madness.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 4:27 pmThe scary thing is, I think it will actually go the other way as I do think the board have always had plans if we go down. There are no guarantees we would bounce back up, and with our ageing squad it seems even less likely.
If the board are facing the January window and all they can see is preparations for the championship, then I despair.
I am extremely grateful for the years of prosperity Burnley have been enjoying, but Burnley have been in the Premier League for several years now and always beat the odds, if we go out with a whimper now with no fight, it would be the most sickening thing of all.
(Obviously a dramatic prospect but one which seems to be nearing every week )

It might as well be. Dyche spouts the same old drivel every interview. In this one it is clear that he hasn't got a clue why they got beat.
Unbelievable Jeff.

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
DD plus a quality right winger/wing back could transform us OR a quality CM + wing back and DD goes back . The board really must step up
Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Garlick is no fool
He knows giving Dyche money to spend will end up with us having a very expensive bench warmer who doesn't fit the system

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Dyche will not split the Westwood, cork partnership up unless of injuries or suspension,so talk of signing a new cm is irrelevant
Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
That's the point if dyche can't see what 1500 fans can ,we are in trouble

The board will see empty seats, the board will be bored with the football, the board will hear the boo's. To me they have only two options - they either back Dyche in the market or get rid of him but they'll do neither as both options require spending money.

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
We seriously need some fresh faces this month.
We needed a central midfielder in the summer, got one but it’s not worked out.
If, as it seems, he leaves next week we need a replacement at the bare minimum.

This phrase has stuck with me, we're doing our best but eventually that won't be good enough. So don't stress about it and you'll be better off for it.

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
I think the Board have the faith that Dyche will grind out enough ugly points for us to finish 17th every year without any real backing. As long as the T.V money keeps rolling in I don't think they'll be bothered about empty seats or the football on show.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 6:37 pmThe board will see empty seats, the board will be bored with the football, the board will hear the boo's. Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
I for one am not stressing. Just would like a manager that had more in his tactics book than Plan A. Far too inflexible and this filters down to players not involved when trust is not put in them. It happens. We have gone stale. Change is needed. By that article we are going down anyway. Lets go down playing football not DycheballCombatClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 6:40 pm"Burnley cannot outrun their circumstances forever"

We urgently need a centre mid this window, no bones about it.
Cork and Westwood were absolutely turgid today.

""I don't think there will be pots of cash to spend, and I don't think, at our level of the market, that there is going to be players available."
very depressing to read but to be fair he is unlikely to come out and say we are going to sign players. If the statement is 100% genuine then we might as well forget the PL and expect mid table Championship at best - at least we got a shiny new training ground out of it all

Re: Dyche: January Signings Unlikely
Likewise. And in my opinion his views on VAR shows how little regard he actually has for the game of football as an entertainment spectacle. He is happy playing the margins and as long as we end up on the right side of the margins enough to manage 17th every season he is happy. I mean he is a one trick pony on 75k a week
Plus this one town one team he constantly bleats on about. The fans understand...no they dont. He makes out in interviews the fans are always happy knowing they arent. King of the soundbites
