Obviously not pleased the lad is genuinely hurt, but when players roll around on the floor like this - you must agree it can be difficult to be sympathetic and ofcourse feel that his injuries are genuine at the time, without replays.

Exactly. Yet Im the one with the most shocking post ever read on here.

Villa and Wesley in particular are serial divers.

As above. Were punished last week against Watford for it and continued their antics this week. With two exceptions obviously which are unfortunate.

Ben Mee can't win hes damned if he goes in hard but fair as in the Gomez and Wesley tackles or if he stands off and does nothung as againgst Son and Grealish yesterday hes damned for being too hesitant
In think hes rounded the corner re form and playing well
Tarks though, yesterday, had a game to forget

Hard but fair tackle with an unfortunate ending. I for one clapped the lad off, it was pretty obvious he was seriously injured. Yes he has feigned injuries before and the one at Villa Park was disgusting, but I go to watch my team win, not take pleasure in watching an opposing player getting a nasty injury..

I know most on here won't agree and say he won the ball but I think Ben Mee's gone in to do him there. At best you can say it was extremely clumsy.
One of the first things I was taught was you will get hurt if you go in half heartedly. Wesley has two options, pull out or go in as committed as Mee. He went in half heartedly.

To me it is a good hard fair tackle then again you might like to see players getting booked (Dawson for Watford) for winning the ball.

I booed and shouted as Wesley was taken off but I was aiming it at the stretcher bearers who rather than walk 4 foot to the left to leave the field of play, chose to walk across the width of the pitch and to the far corner thus delaying the game even more.

Professional Footballers hit you a lot harder in a tackle than fat Keith that plays for Plumb Street Miners, sometimes it may appear small contact when slowed down on TV but I'd imagine it still hurts, earning lots of money doesn't make your legs made or steel.

I'm not saying players don't dive but, I've never been one for booing a player that's down that looks hurt as you're usually a long way from the incident and haven't really a clue what's gone on.

Heaton got a fantastic reception from our supporters. When he was stretched off he got a standing ovation from the JH and cricketfield stands.

Villa to be fair were play acting all afternoon and no more so than Grealish

To a certain extent, footballers bring the crowds reaction on themselves, not the injury obviously, but the initial lack of sympathy.
We see that much rolling around and playacting in the modern game, that fans immediately assume they are playacting.

Sad, but that's how it is.

The point is that the booing etc was whilst he was being carried off on a stretcher, so was obviously injured and not pretending
No, the point is that there was booing as soon as the lad went down. I'm not defending the booing, there's absolutely no need for it. As soon as the stretcher was called on, only then was it clear the lad wasn't "crying wolf". Shouldn't boo injuries regardless, but it should have stopped for definite at that stage. Embarrassing.

As for the fans booing Heaton when he was down injured? Should be ashamed of yourselves.

Wesley can be thankful he didn’t receive the Matty James treatment who broke his leg and got bottles thrown at him on the stretcher. I think James is a Burnley fan too? Or born here

I will say it again, the booing got worse when he was being stretchered off. At that point did anyone genuinely think he was faking it? I said earlier that I completely get the frustration of feigning injury resulting in the booing etc, I don't have a single issue with that as I agree the amount of feigning injury is a joke (Jay Rod did it also). But for the booing to increase as the lad was being stretchered off is my point, how anybody can think that is acceptable is just ridiculous!

You really do spout some shite don't you? If you heard it then you are the only person who did and we even had the situation where Tom, on a stretcher, was applauding the Burnley fans in the Longside as he was taken past and the Burnley fans responded. He'd got a terrific ovation from the Jimmy Mac end too ahead of the second half.
Actually Tony, he was booed in the James Hargreaves Upper when he sat back down on the floor after being stood up. There's a decent number of crowd mics in there so it's likely easier to pick up on TV than in other parts of the ground but it definitely happened.

You obviously have not been tackled by Fat Keith, the legend!

Seriously, all our back four are ferocious tacklers I am pleased to say.

Do you not think it’s reasonable that the stretcher bearers and indeed the seriously injured player can take the shortest route to get medical treatment?

If you search Ben Mee on Twitter he’s getting tons of abuse! It doesn’t help that there’s just two freeze frames being shown of the Gomez and Wesley tackles. If someone put a video on of both tackles people would realise they were good fair tackles, just unfortunate to injure the players. Didn't Gomez fall into the advertising which resulted in his fracture??

The worst one says it was racially motivated , this was from an executive officer at the department for work and pensions. Think he might be in the office Monday morning. Think before you tweet.

Defo heard it on TV when heaton got up and sat back down again.

Didn't last long, I suspect they were swiftly told to shut the **** up, but it did happen.

Get over getting offended.

Wesley and Villa are serial divers. In this case he was injured which people are rightly concerned about and acknowledge that they hope he recovers quickly.
