eddie howe and david moyes

Post by Wile E Coyote » Wed Jan 01, 2020 11:22 pm

funny how fans react, all week there's been little else other than how west ham fans do not want a moyes return, then he gets them a BIG win immediately.
Howe was deemed THE golden boy wasn't he, tied on for england job many said. Now he's in charge of a spluttering, iept team in trouble.
Just shows how incredibly two faced fans are. sean dyche has given all those who now go on the matches amazing level of success. we all know it, and yet on the day of a defeat the knives are out yet again.
I assume the messageboard isnt representative of the wider clarets support, otherwise we are ten times more fickle than the rest.

On the subject of West Ham v Bournemouth, have you seen the pen award for the third goal? Looks nothing more than a dive to me.

I think Bournemouth need to be changing the young keeper for a while and get Boruc? back in the nets. But hopefully they dont the club seem to be in freefall now.

It's not the results though. It's the football, quite frankly we have put up with it a lot longer than most fans would.

Was thinking this. Good prospect but a rabbit in the headlights.

Theyre also missing David Brooks massively along with the inconsistency from fraser and wilson.

Just thinking, if Bournemouth go down Sean Dyche will be the longest serving manager in the Premier League. :)

Happy New Year, everyone.

Today was a build up of issues. Anyone who doesn’t recognise where we are in the football hierarchy and our over performance is a fool.
However, fans can take a 1-0 win if we have been poor or even a loss when we have fought hard. But in recent games our identify of tight at the back and smart play has gone.
Lack of creativity and lack of stealing a goal has gone as well.
I even think we knew this before kick off today.

We need to get back to being ruthless on and off the pitch. Today the fans saw an option of good football from a struggling team v a lack of commitment and lack of fight from an established team.

Great 2nd half, but we would not of played like that if the score was 0-0 at HT or 0-1

Because that's all there is. If there's nothing entertaining, you need to be achieving results.

History suggests (like Pulis at Stoke) that even if you are achieving results, unattractive football has its limits. But you certainly can't be both unsuccessful and poor to watch and not expect it to be mentioned.

We are all saying it was a great second half, but we could have conceeded another three goals-how often were they two on two with us, and they missed a couple of sitters. Also the dis-allowed goal should have stood.Hopefully a clear the air meeting is required as this was as bad a defeat as Everton's 5-1 trouncing at the Turf 12 months ago Dreading Leicester -they got 9 at Southampton, and I am travelling up with 3 Foxes fans

I think one of the most difficult thing for managers is keeping their message fresh and hence players enthused. One of the main ways of doing this is bringing new faces in who buy into your ethos and put pressure on the incumbents to keep performing. Without this, standards slip and players and fans start to question the manager’s message and tactics. Consequently performances deteriorate thus causing a negative feedback loop to develop. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to find players of a similar or better standard to what we already have that fit our budget. As a result, recruitment has been lacklustre which, combined with Dyche’s loyalty to his core group of players, means that competition for places isn’t what it needs to be. So when standards slip or confidence drops, it is very difficult to make the necessary changes to rectify this. That said, it has been done before, notably after the Hull match in our promotion season and after the Everton match last year. It feels like we have reached a similar point, but with a run of tough fixtures over the next month, turning things around may be difficult. We could easily be bottom three come February.

If Moyes was on a 4 year contract he wouldn’t see out the end of it. Howe has been in his comfort zone at Bournemouth for a long time. Just because you once achieved or did historically it does not mean you always will. You see this everywhere in the business world. Managers need to evolve as the market around them changes or catches up with them.

Good point about evolving as even Guardiola has come in for a bit of stick for not strengthening their defence.

Howe has had a dreadful bunch on injuries to deal with include the key one, Ake.

We haven't got any such excuse. Today we lost to a genuine lower positioned side for the first time.

Why? He was offside. With the way they're currently using VAR, they have to disallow it. They need to fix it so goals like that stand.
