Thanks CT and very fair on what I watched also.

I would like to add it was good to see the majority of fans (always some idiots who dont seem to know any better) in the JHU where we sit applauding Heaton when he was being stretchered past us, and good that he responded by applauding all 4 sides all the way back to the tunnel.

A very accurate and honest reflection of the game. We've been here before. In the past we've registered poor performances against poor teams but performed miracles against the more illustrious of rivals. Not this season though. I don't want to point at individuals because they've been great in the past. Is our squad showing its average age? Maybe take a risk with a couple of kids to inject a bit of enthusiasm? Don't know but hopeful that our management team do!

Is Hendrick being targeted by the crowd any more than any other player?

The way we're playing at present, you could make a case for anyone in the team being vilified! :(

Whilst very true, that has made me feel even more down when you see the next 4 league games

We needed Hendrick yesterday. He should have come on after 30 mins at the latest.

Generally yes. Totally unfair in my view.

Hendrick has scored some quality important goals ok against United his shooting was poor but at least he got into positions and in fairness doesn't hide.

I am a pessimist when it comes to my team born out of over 60 years of ups and downs. The ups have been fantastic, the downs terrible to take. Last season became an almost nailed on relegation by Xmas but the thrashing by Everton was the only really woeful performance during a run that saw us get just 12 points from 19 games. We had played well and lost to some of the big boys in those 19 (Spurs and Arsenal before the boxing day massacre)
This season the results are better so far but the performances have IMO been much worse that last season and I fear for the rest of the season. The clubs to go down look like Norwich and two others. Watford are now getting top six results (as we did last year at this time), Bournmouth, surely Eddie should turn them around once the long list of injuries improve. Southampton are now doing this season what we did last season. Can anyone see SD and these players turning things around? Barnes is off pace and apparently carrying an injury, our midfield is pretty non-existent presently. We are forever throwing one in and then conceding. And NYD was the pits.
Can the optimists on this board show me where 16 points from 17 games will come from please?
Before anyone posts that we will need less than 40, I think the league is much tighter this year apart from Liverpool so that the high 30's is a likely target for safety

With the next four games to come, this is all very worrying.

Not my experience where I sit. He doesn’t get any more stick than anyone else currently.

No smugness intended but elsewhere I predicted 4 points from Decembers fixtures and we scraped 6.

I could only see a further possible 8 until the end of February and 3 of those have gone. With Saints playing well now it may be anything better than 4 points going into March will be a miracle.

I don't see us getting to 40 points anytime soon unless by some real change in our performances. We used to be hard to beat by anyone in this League but it's no longer the case. Managers trot out the usual guff pre match but must relish playing us now.

Let's hope there are some unexpected changes in our fortune this month and beyond.

I know it might sound callous but the one good thing to come out of the game is that AV are without Wesley and Heaton for the rest of the season
