I've dug the flat cap out from a cupboard and toffed the Chaplin tash with a fang goatee... 2020 is the centenary of a rise to football glory indefatigable even to a world war attempting to take out the glory makers of 1914.
Seven years on... 21.
Get out yr Henry Miller novels and tap dance, the 20s are back.

1920/21, a truly remarkable season. Starts with three defeats on the bounce, then the following 30 games undefeated and finally Champions of Division One.
Halley, Boyle & Watson, household names. Bob Kelly 20 goals, Joe Anderson 25 goals. Even 7 goals from man mountain and captain Tommy Boyle at centre-half.
And all that having won the FA Cup in the year prior to the War in 1914. What a team.......what an achievement. Any planned celebrations will be totally justified.

Re: The beginning of Champs. 2020 Centenary..
Thinking about it more, there really should be a film made about that period at Burnley Football Club and in particular captain Tommy Boyle.
The problem is anyone not familiar with our history would not believe the facts........Tommy captains the side to win the FA Cup in 1914, then goes off to fight for his country in WW1 where he suffers life threatening injuries only to return to the Clarets and again captain them to the First Division Championship in 1920/21..........You really couldn't make it up, but every bit of it is true.
