Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
I'll give it a reluctant miss. Our attitude in cup games is poor and generally the performances are so as well. Mainly though it really is hurting watching us at the moment and I don't want to be as miserable this Saturday at home as I have been this last couple of games.
Kicking a dog when it's down? Maybe but I don't want to get any more down and one less miserable sod wont make a difference. In fact the more empty seats there are even at a tenner the penny might drop that we want some excitement.

It's a long way to travel for one of our cup games. (I live on the south coast, near Brighton).

Not sure I’d even go if it was free for season ticket holders

Not worth the petrol money to watch our second string play in a competition the manager and club clearly have no time for. If Peterborough are up for it, they’ll probably win. Fortunately for us, they’ll probably be prioritising the league as well, and their current form is even worse than ours!!!

Dont think I’m going to bother, going to spend the weekend with the family after a busy Christmas and a few late nights to make up for.
Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
I will be an absentee on Saturday.
I haven’t missed a home cup game in a long long time (usually just trick the wife into believing they are included in the season ticket as she’s has no clue). Done a number of the away games too.
The Sunderland league cup game this season really left me questioning if driving over and missing out on time with the kids was really worth it just to attend our cup games where we are so apathetic. Although had we not played two recent home games in less than a week i probably would have still gone. Then when you also take into account how frankly diabolical we have been in those games, it’s just not worth the time energy and grief I’d get for being out most of the day.
Must add the statement about not signing players this month was the final nail in the coffin for me and left me doubly flat.

Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
I normally try to make the cup games because they are cheap and I can often get a ticket close to friends/family who are ST holders. Decided not to bother this time because the past few have been really poor. Sod's law this will be the year we put in a decent performance.

After going to Burton and the Barnsley game last season I said to myself I won't be going to any more cup games until Dyche stops treating them like glorified training sessions. The stupid kickoff time doesn't help either.

I’m not going, I have no desire to watch us labour over a defeat to a much inferior side. Our approach to the cups is pathetic, if they can’t be arsed, neither can I.

Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
I lost interest in the FA Cup years ago , terrible kick off time (especially for the travelling fans) and generally losing interest in football. I don't blame the club for this though.
Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
couldnt gve a toss, awful ko time, and better thing to do with my money than watch us have 1 feeble attempt on goal.
Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
It will be the first home game i've missed in five years, but yes I'm not going on. That makes me sad.
Sean won't take it seriously and will play a second fiddle team, and we'll get beat anyway after playing longball for 90 minutes.

Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
I'm going, however, my grandson whose eighteen doesn't want to go because it's only "The FA Cup!".
How things change, when I was eighteen the third round of the cup was probably one of the biggest games of the season.

Iam not going as the 1231 kick off plays havoc with my plans. Was due to be back home for 530pm if it was 1230pm kick off. But it will be 531pm and I can't commit to that.

Having a bath
Though seriously an early KO for an fa cup game is just dire ,though I still say SD has always taken the FA cup seriously ,if anyone bothers to check a few of the sides we’ve been knocked out by ( with the exception of Lincoln )

If I had some hair then I would be washing it whilst I stay at home on Saturday.
After suffering along with the rest of us for a while now I need a week off. Sean doesn’t tend to focus on these Cup games (his attention span in the PL is not much better either).
I was at the Wimbledon cup loss at Turf Moor many years ago which was painful. Had just about got over it then Sean came along + we get a similar outcome every year these days.

You see, I just don't get that at all. In the last five seasons we've lost away at Spurs, Arsenal and Man City (twice), results you might have expected, and the only disappointing result in this competition under Dyche (when you would have expected better) was against Lincoln when we put out a strong team.scouseclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 9:46 pmNot worth the petrol money to watch our second string play in a competition the manager and club clearly have no time for.
I'd accept your argument in the League Cup, but very definitely not the FA Cup.
Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
I'll be going on because I enjoy the match day, even if I don't much enjoy the matches anymore. The early kick off is a pain though.
I'm going on hoping to see us change our system, and some personnel. It's a great opportunity to try something different. I'll know whether I've made the right decision at 11:30am

Out of interest why don’t people like the 12.30 (or 12:31 in this instance) kick off? I quite like getting the game done earlier and leaving more of the afternoon and evening free.

Irony, wasted
Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
Coming over from Leeds, a 12:30 kick off feels rushed.
Usually I get a good lie in, have a leisurely drive over, a catch up over a good lunch and a walk back to the Turf with time to watch the warm ups. The atmosphere is always crap with early kick off too, although I realise we were never in for a good atmosphere during an early round FA cup tie with 8K on.

We have laboured and stumbled over the line in a couple of games ,however remember Lincoln non league club away at the home of a team in the richest league in the world.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:18 pmDoesn’t matter how many times you tell em CT , there’s a hardcore of moaners who insist “ Dyche treats the fa cup like a kick about with the kids” they say same about Europa games makes my blood boil

Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
Well for a start off, he played Gibson and Vydra against City last year - something he clearly wouldn’t consider in a league game! And don’t get me started on Lincoln - that really shouldn’t happen in modern football.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:14 pmYou see, I just don't get that at all. Re: Are you missing the Peterborough game ? If so why ?
Yes missing. Dyche’s efforts in the cups are beyond pathetic and the ‘football’ at the moment is rank bad awful. Garlick and Dyche need to show some intent. Need to get a strong team out to prove to the fans they can play some football, create some chances and shots on target and actually beat a lower league team.

I'll be there. Plus I'll be taking my brothers, sisters, the wife and the sextuplets.
