Batsuhayi and Giroud

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Fri Jan 03, 2020 9:56 am

Both linked with a move to Aston Villa as a replacement for Wesley.

Seems his injury wont do us any favours after all.

Would love either of these here on loan. Offload Hart and Vydra... even if we had to pay the wages in full for 6 months thats 'only' 2.5m each...

Offload Hart? It’s only his lovely smile that’s keeping us going at the moment.

World Cup Winner Giroud is just a French Sam Vokes.

As has Tod Cantwell who we should definitely be looking at but many on here said he was too fancy with no end product.

He's at a similar sized club to us in the same league as us and United are after him and you think we should be trying to compete for his signature?

Seems like a good way of wasting our time when we could be looking out for someone who we may have a chance of signing.

I saw some sort of quote from him on Twitter (so it must be true, Ha) that he’s going to the very top. Confident lad, and there’s no way we’ll sign him. We do need that type of player though.

Not really relevant; Villa have been linked with two players but their best player has been linked with a move away. Could go either way for them.

Norwich value him at £30m - just out of our price range :D

I may have been joking about our Euros semi finalist. Though didn’t Giroud have some stat of not a single shot on target in the very same WC? We couldn’t possible afford his wages anyway , though Wolves /Villa /Palace might be able to splash on the aging X factor finalist .

6 month loan would be far wiser spent than whatever it was we spent on crouch.

They're looking at him, maddison, grealish and long staff. They arent going to sign all of them never mind play them.

Giroud is on £7m p.a. according to the French media. A lot of clubs (in France and Spain) are reportedly keen but cannot afford that. Not surprising.

The point is that if bigger clubs than us want him they will get him ahead of us and even if it was only us in for him he would likely stay where he is until the season ends as there would be very little (if any) point in him coming to us from his point of view I expect.
