Re: ARTICLE: We have to have a clear focus on delivering a performance
When Peterborough took a hammering from Rotherham recently Darren Ferguson declared that it was "men against boys" and that his side just couldn't cope with Rotherham's strength and pace.
It will come down to team selection and attitude but we should not be losing to an out of form side several divisions below us.

" we know what they are all about"
It seems to be a recurring comment from opposition managers. Are they trying to say we have only one way of playing?

I'd be more confident had he suggested we had a game plan. Certainly didn't àppear to have one for the last three games.

SD's quotes always remind me of the Daily Mail headline generator.

Re: ARTICLE: We have to have a clear focus on delivering a performance
Sorry for more negativity, but reading & listening to his interviews are downright depressing.
Where have the halcyon days gone when Stan came out with gems such as "tomorrows chip wrapper", " a blind man on a galloping horse" etc etc.
Eddie Howe had a couple of good sayings " we bossed the game", Owen - "we went toe to toe".
I honestly can't think of anything interesting and memorable that Dyche has said in his interviews.

Who knows, if we have Jay Rod and Vydra upfront and without the pressure of a league game we may even relax and play some decent football? Surely we aren't going to try pumping it long to those two?

Minimum requirement is maximum effort. Unless it's in a first half

Re: ARTICLE: We have to have a clear focus on delivering a performance
If "we bossed the game" or "we went toe to toe" are your benchmark then there are loads. "Prouder than the proudest man in Proudsville" springs immediately to mind. I'm fond of a good "framework" myselfNonayforever wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 8:04 pmSorry for more negativity, but reading & listening to his interviews are downright depressing.

After our recent performances, my current favourite is ‘it’s a real head scratcher’Nonayforever wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 8:04 pmSorry for more negativity, but reading & listening to his interviews are downright depressing.

Pope and Gibson not playing...........but Gibson never does and I think Pope got a knock v Villa so wont be risked. So I guess its back to good ol Joe.
My guess at the team is
Hart
Lowton Tarks Long Pieters
Lennon Hendrick Cork Brady
J Rod Wood
Think we will thrash em 2-1

Re: ARTICLE: We have to have a clear focus on delivering a performance
Ahh I just yearn for those halcyon days when we were bouncing around the championship listening to great uplifting quotes every week...rather than sustained premier league football listening to honest down to earth assessments of our games...Nonayforever wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 8:04 pmSorry for more negativity, but reading & listening to his interviews are downright depressing.
