Re: Ancelloti knows the way to beat Liverpool
They beat Sheffield United last night and Wilder heaped praise on them while admitting his own team hadn't played well.
He said: ""The first balls, second balls, running forward, tackling, defending, being aggressive; they [Liverpool] showed all those qualities. It's a great example for our team. We were off the pace. Maybe the Manchester City game took more out of them than I expected - our goalkeeper kept us in the game. For us to get anything, we would have had to perform really well and we didn't.
"Every time we tried to press they played around us with the quality they have got. All the stuff that gets talked about in academies, with young coaches - just look at what they did in terms of the basic stuff that gives you an opportunity to play and dominate. That's what they did to us. Not only technically, but tactically, they are a fantastic side. We have been well beaten."

'tackling,.... being aggressive'
can't imagine some of their fans being happy with that.

Angelo Carlotti seems to have a cunning plan more cunning than a fox just made professor of cunning at the Oxford college of cunning, good luck mate .

Ancelotti should start an on line help service such is his intelligence.

Yes, but Liverpool have a way to counter that sort of insight.
Did anyone see the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures? They had one of Liverpool's 6 (six) statisticians - and they're just the six who appear on the team photo. Anyway, this statistician mentioned the superb statistical analysis that they get, showing the position of all 22 players and the ball at any given fraction of a second, and working out from number-crunching of all past scenarios what the best options are and the percentage probabilities of scoring for any given action.
And the conclusions they came to?
1. Shots from the middle of goal and from close in are more likely to score than shots from an angle or from further out.
2. The best pass is usually one that means your player will get to the ball before an opponent.
If that doesn't negate the "score more goals than the opponent" tactic, then nothing will.

Dear Carlo. I support Burnley and I have a theory; if we pump the balls up with helium or hydrogen will it help our centre halves and keeper tw@t it up into the air even higher for the hopeful Wood flick on ?

So there actually is a degree in stating the bloody obvious...!dsr wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 11:10 pmYes, but Liverpool have a way to counter that sort of insight.
