Trains

Post by Rodneyyouplonker » Sat Jan 04, 2020 7:01 pm

Hey all, hope everyone is happier tonight. Anyway I need to get to Halifax on Tuesday and don’t have the car. I have seen a few people posting about trains on here and just wondered if it’s likely it will show up? If not is it worth catching bus and how much is it and how long does it take? Thanks. UTC

Going to Halifax, you should be fine. That's the York train, which despite recent failings of Northern Rail, is pretty reliable. Its 20 past the hour and takes 30 mins. If for some reason it doesn't turn up, you can get the train to Tod ( which runs 15 minutes after the halifax train) and change there for Halifax.

Cant comment on the 592 bus as I've not caught it for a few years, but I reckon it'll take a lot longer than 30 mins.... probably nearer an hour.

The 'traveline.info' website will show you all the available options.

The 592 takes more then an hour. Takes nearly an hour just to get to Tod from Halifax then it’s another 40 mins or so from there to Burnley. Deffo get the train and aim to get the one earlier then you need to get to be safe.
