Was hoping to see Ali koiki make an Appearance today with all the good reviews I've heard about him. Instead of Taylor coming on it could of been koiki. He could be the next McNeil given the chance

What did they make of him at Swindon when he was on loan?

If he can’t get on when we’re a couple of goals clear at home Vs opposition two divisions lower, he’s not going to.
Lots of PL teams fielding numerous young players this weekend. The continued reluctance to give youth a chance is the biggest disappointment currently, I realise McNeil got in but only when there was no other real option.

SD may have fancied trying Pieters and Taylor down the left instead, with at the back of his mind McNeil being an option down the middle.

His time will come. Although I personally would have given him some minutes, maybe Sean thought that yesterday was just a time for him to have the match day experience and maybe round 4 will be the time to give him minutes. I think Sean tends to look at the longer term picture when it comes to players, that’s why he doesn’t hurry them back from injury.

Yeah, but looking at the bigger picture...no one can deny that, McNeil aside, we are entirely bereft of any youth. Needs addressing.

Note I didn’t say “every”.

I'd happily throw a few new faces in the mix to push others and give options. Either a couple of big signings or 3 or 4 league 1 options.

Dyche could of gave him 10 min at the end. Instead of Westwood coming on Taylor could have gone lb and koiki could have gone lm with pieters going off

Have seen Ali Koiki in several Under 23 games and I reckon he 'might' make the step up....

But imagine the pelters the lad would have got if SD had put him on and we had lost....

At 4-2 with 10 min to go we didn't look like we were in any trouble. worth a 10 min cameo

Dyche doesn't listen to the fans though.

No, Norwich, young striker scored a hat-trick.

Norwich are doing very well with their youth development. We need to get some of our better young prospects in and around the first team squad. We just cannot afford to buy all our "upgrades".

Having said that, Norwich have a very good chance of going down.

He should of got some game time. He would've got far more by coming on for 10 minutes then having a few hours match day experience.

Thought it was odd myself, I deal opportunity to give him 45 minutes with Peiters well experienced behind him.

Not sure what the Westwood for Cork swap did either, that was just as odd, hardly a run out for Westwood, nor a rest for Cork.

Maybe getting his favourites their appearance fees and win bonuses..... ;-)

Also if it is true the board arent willing to spend because of the wage bill surely it would be in our interests to start blooding 2 or 3 of the younger players on lower wages so that when contracts run out we have replacements in the squad and at a massive reduction in wages

Signal to bench from Cork that he needed to come off. It was the 90th Minute so sensible to get Westwood on.

I was highlighting the Prem teams that played young players and didn’t win. Could you imagine the meltdown on here if we had “given youth a chance” and lost?

I didn't really have a problem with the slightly weird Taylor/Pieters thing at half time, especially if it's something SD is thinking of trying at other times, but when Cork came off, surely we could have moved things around a little for basically 5 minutes to let Koiki have a trot out rather than bringing Westwood on. Seemed a bit on an opportunity missed to me.
