Re: Park view
This message board all over though. Positive news. A match day pub and new business opens. Creating jobs and bringing something to the area. And people want to moan and say how rubbish it was and will be.

They did a decent job of the Cross Keys in Barlick. However on the flip side, the Station in Alty is reminiscent of the Big Window...

Time will tell.
Re: Park view
Be better on a match day. Drinking in a tent and having to **** in a portaloo is embarrassing for a PL club.

Re: Park view
They will get my trade on match day.
I'm sick of watching the screen in the fanzone, trying to listen to commentry/interviews over the fecking music being played by 2BR or whoever they are.

Re: Park view
We'll call in for one on a match day when it opens and probably go back if they have enough serving staff and the draught beers are well kept.

Re: Park view
One of our Board baulked at the price quoted for a permanent bar structure for the fanzone and decided to go with the tent option. Hopefully this gives them a kick up the ar5e to get it properly sorted

Aye, because they left it about twenty years too late.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 9:04 pmWas a ridiculous price and it would not have worked as a match day pub given the figures the club would have had to pay. Club did look at it but just not worth it.

Re: Park view
Nothing to do with 20 years ago but the current situation, the minute the club looked as though they were interested, the price went through the roof. To be honest, I only saw it potentially as a fanzone area, wouldn't have worked for the club as a pub any other time.
Re: Park view
I'm keen on it being refurbished as it's currently an eyesore but surely without serving food it can't survive, I hope I'm wrong.

There are plenty of pubs in the area doing well.

Re: Park view
Has the refurbishment even started yet? Can’t see it being open for Spurs if it hasn’t?

You should take a look a the facility LUFC have across the road from their ground (Centenary Pavilion). Open to the fans on match days and hired out for conference events etc at other times, it really is impressive.

Re: Park view
I used to work there during my student years and when a table left a bottle of wine unfinished the managers would ask you to collect it and re-cork it to serve as house wine the following night. Classy bunch.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 7:31 pmYou should take a look a the facility LUFC have across the road from their ground (Centenary Pavilion).
