Ademola Lookman

Post by Woodleyclaret » Wed Jan 08, 2020 1:20 pm

Apparently available. He looked a decent signing from Charlton when we played them
We got Nick and JBG at the time and Lookman looked a prospect when he went to Everton
For whatever reason he ended up in Germany and could be available on loan

I'd take, him. Always looks lively when he plays and would offer a different option with a touch more class than Vydra has been able to show in his limited appearances. Doubt he would be overly keen on coming here to potentially sit on the bench though, although current injuries to Barnes and Wood and the fact that Vydra doesn't seem likely to play may help.

Right footed winger , speedy, out of our price range even in loan I’d imagine, but he would be an instant upgrade on whatever we have on that side of the pitch

Given RB Leipzig's average weekly wage is about £8k per week less than ours I'd guess we could probably afford his wages, especially on loan.

Apparently a loan to buy is the option at Newcastle. Seems a win win if they can do it.

You'd have to say, he's exactly the sort of player we should be looking at - obviously talented, lost his way a bit - and in terms of adding some pace and dynamism to the side, he would also appear to play in a position where extra depth would be welcome.

But I suspect that realistically, there will be clubs - like Newcastle - in for him who can pay him a bit more than we can, so even though it may be we could afford his current wages, I suspect he'll be blown out of the water, unfortunately.

Somebody like bolaise would be more realistic had a bad injury at Everton & lost his place loaned out somewhere, but if SD could get him to replicate his Palace form could be a find, not sure if available.

Imagine the conversation

So Ademola, we'll boot the ball as far into the corners as we can and you just chase it, you can be our new Ian Moore

Would Steve Bruce's Newcastle be any different?

Problem now is players will start looking at us and worry about being stuck on the bench for 12 months waiting for one of our undroppables to get injured.

He’s a little bit small but If we start playing football again could be a good fit on the wing or in the 10 if we play 4-5-1 again

Not like any of our existing midfield are "big".

I think he'd be ideal and definitely an upgrade. May lack the discipline to play in a Dyche team but we certainly need his pace and skill, it would add a dimension to the squad the fans have been crying out for.

Dyche knows it as GKN was signed with a similar skillset.

I don't understand the board's mentality.

Jarrod Bowen is available for 20m right now, Dwight McNeil will leave in summer whatever happens and is likely to go for double that..

Surely with Dwight being money in the bank, we could get a replacement in early and then allow them to help us stay up..

If we did go down, surely there's 40m Dwight, 25-30m Tarks, 20m Pope... like 85-90m in sales even for just those 3?

I really don't understand this 'We need to be really cautious' mentality they have... We have value in the team.

Is this a different Bowen from the one Hull have said isn't leaving until the summer ?
