Villa v Leicester

Post by Tricky Trevor » Wed Jan 08, 2020 8:13 pm

Can’t watch this without thinking on Andy Lochhead.
Played in the 69 FA Cup Final for Leicester and the 71 League Cup Final for Villa.
So many hat-tricks, 4s & 2x5s for us. What a man.

I’m in bits and pieces after reading on his wiki page he’s a member of the Dave Clark 5 fan club. Surely that’s a wiki wind-up?

Wouldn't mind if someone gave Maddison and Vardy a solid enough kick to keep them out just past this weekend :D

The Villa number 8 who came on looks a good player.

Hate to say it, but Villa look too good to go down, plus they have a few players to come back from injury, and no doubt will be active in the transfer window. A few weeks ago I had them/or Bournemouth as certs with Norwich & Watford. Sadly only Norwich are the ones struggling to put a run together

Talking of putting runs together, six matches ago Villa were three points behind us.

Guess what, they are still three points behind us!

Right now most neutrals would put their money on Villa rather than us. Took 4 points of us-saw the game at Villa they should have won
They had a game plan v us last week, and had a game plan tonight(they were without any fit strikers). I dont like them or their managers but have to respect what they are doing. Lets nor forget they are 90 mins away from a Final too

And don't you respect what we've done and are currently doing in the league?

Very proud of being in the PL and our achievements have been immense, and have been a fan since 1961. I also believe in building on what you have, not standing still, be smart with your management of the business and not get complacent. I am also a big believer in form and watching everyone around us.

I know we have played some top teams lately but our form and general play in the last 6 weeks has been poor. Can take defeat in this unforgiving League but not poor individual performances . I am not the only one that feels like this

The bookies wouldn't, Villa are odds on to be relegated with most of them. We're 7/2.

As others have said Villa look far to good to go down. The teams who look like they are heading for the drop are Norwich, Bournemouth and Burnley.
You can't stand still in this league like we have for the last 2 years, you need to improve your 1st 11. We just keep rolling out the same personal week in and out, they now look tired and weiry
