Last year I parked at the shopping centre near the ground, but it took an absolute age to get out of, anybody else got any better ideas this time round?

I parked about 20 minute walk away from the ground last time (near some flats at a part of the road that forks off left and right. It’s about 20 minute walk straight from the ground in the direction of town)damo_whitehead wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 9:17 amLast year I parked at the shopping centre near the ground, but it took an absolute age to get out of, anybody else got any better ideas this time round?
Sorry I know that’s very vague. Can’t think of the name just know it off hand. But we got away easily.
After Rolling Stones gig there I walked back to strange ways to the travelodge as roads and trains were a nightmare. But that’s far from a short walk.
Re: Manchester United (a) - General Info Thread
Just paid £6.25 through a parking app. 15 min walk

We've always parked at Ladywell tram stop and then got the tram in to Media City and walked from there. It's free parking at Ladywell and when you do get back there is little traffic.

Is that a residential area or a car park?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:14 amWe've always parked at Ladywell tram stop and then got the tram in to Media City and walked from there. It's free parking at Ladywell and when you do get back there is little traffic.

We always park in the multistorey at the Lowry shopping outlet opposite Media City. Never had any probs getting away after the game. Its about 15 minutes walk from there to the ground.
Re: Manchester United (a) - General Info Thread
I can vouch for this - the tram does get a little busy after the game, but the service is quick and I was back on the motorway within half an hour of the end of the game last seasonClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:14 amWe've always parked at Ladywell tram stop and then got the tram in to Media City and walked from there. There's a free car park at the side of it - it does take a while to get back there but at least you get away quickly afterwards.

Re: Manchester United (a) - General Info Thread
I live in Didsbury and my daughter has been working in the hospitality at OT for several games this season.
I pick her up at a small roundabout at the back of Old Trafford tram stop on Warwick Road South. I never have any traffic problems picking her up just after the game has finished and there is plenty of on street parking in the area. I will be heading there tonight by car having always caught the tram in the past.
It is just under 10 minutes from the ground and the right side coming out of the away end. Make sure you are on the Warwick Road South side of the stop, if you are on the cricket ground side there is nowhere to park

Re: Manchester United (a) - General Info Thread
There's still a free car park at Media City.
Re: Manchester United (a) - General Info Thread
I tend to park right at the top of Deansgate as near to Strangeways as possible and use public transport from there.
