Connor Wickham - Dyche signing in the making?
With Tosun going to Palace, i really wouldnt be surprised if Dyche went in for Wickham, especially to free up Vydra for a move

Probably on higher wages than we pay.
Done virtually nothing since one good season when he was a youngster.
Seems to have been more interested in the benefits of being a footballer than actually playing the game.
How in anyway does that seem like a Dyche signing? I assume you mean it is because he is a big lad? It's almost like Dyche is the first manager to like having a tall strong Centre forward (or two) in his team.

Think Glenn Murray seems more likely
Re: Connor Wickham - Dyche signing in the making?
Is he free?
Is he fit?
There was a player on theee once of a day, but cannot remember seeing or hearing of him playing for what seems a long time

Glen murray for a short time, could be useful, unless we have a youngster in the making.
Re: Connor Wickham - Dyche signing in the making?
We dont, they all got released to pave the way for Richardson.
All depends on Barnes and how long he is due to be out, unless we can finally shift Vydra on, although suppose that will also be dependant on the Barnes injury

He'd be a excellent addition if a big if he stays fit & gets a sustainable run of games injury free, I'm surprised he's not gone out on loan, with beneteke possibly villa bound he might stay put. Since his excellent run of form at Sunderland the treatment room as been the norm.

Hey Macca, why don't we try something radical, like actually giving Vydra a game? A 20-odd goal Championship player must have something and he hasn't actually looked bad when he has played considering he only gets about 3 minutes a month on the pitch. If I were him and I was moved on in this window I would hate Burnley FC for the rest of my life, for wasting a year of it.

Rather take Benteke who would fit into our play perfectly. Upgrade on both Wood and Barnes

He's wasted more than a year of his life/career here, he's probably gone backwards

Sure his weekly wage will suppress his hatred towards the club! Do you watch him at training every day?houseboy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 2:48 pmHey Macca, why don't we try something radical, like actually giving Vydra a game? Christian Benteke : 97 appearances for Crystal Palace 19 goals - 1 goal per 5.1 gamescockneyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 2:56 pmRather take Benteke who would fit into our play perfectly. Upgrade on both Wood and Barnes
Chris Wood: 81 appearances for Burnley 28 goals - 1 goal per 2.89 games.
Benteke clearly isn't an upgrade on Chris Wood. Far from it.

But as a Palace fan pointed out to me they don't play to his strengths.
I think he would do well here

I'm always happy when I see clubs like Palace (Benteke) or Bournemouth (Defoe) spend £30+ million on ageing premier league strikers who are overvalued due to a couple decent seasons at a club thus becoming labeled 20 goal a season strikers.
At least our failures are good value by comparison.

Yeah I go along every day to check him out. I'm sure his wage will help but as a pro he surely wants to be playing.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 3:52 pmSure his weekly wage will suppress his hatred towards the club! Do you watch him at training every day?
