Hendrick’s goal VAR
Hendrick’s goal VAR
Why was the VAR line not placed on Abraham’s back foot?

He is clearly playing him onside there but it's Chelsea so.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Good question.
I thought it was very peculiar. I'm not sure they even knew what they were looking at with the way the blue line was being set and re-set.
At least we have the security that if there is a penalty claim later, we know it will be dealt with properly.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Whats the point in this VAR nonsense
Rudiger gives Tarky a backward forearm smash, ref has a little word.
.Abraham clearly 100% pushes Tarky out of the way and scores

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
They desperately need to change VAR for offsides, needs to be a full foot or body part past the last defender, drawing lines on a screen is stupid

Ok say VAR isn't in the game, the linesman still called offside. Nothing changes.

All that will do though is move the place where they'd need to draw the lines.Giftonsnoidea wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 3:47 pmThey desperately need to change VAR for offsides, needs to be a full foot or body part past the last defender, drawing lines on a screen is stupid

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Unfortunately Kefka is right. i would rather that VAR isn't used for marginal offsides.
What really pisses me off though is that it isn't used for obvious fouls/dives/cheating etc. I really don't care that the ref/lino's get a something wrong that is so marginal but I cannot stand that players cheat and constantly get away with it.

Said all season, we’ve put the same idiots in charge of VAR that we’ve seen make mistake after mistake on the pitch for years.

That is exactly what I saw.
It seems quite simple where the line should be ... but they use a completely different line.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
I thought it was the body part you can score with so not arm, my issue is Abraham’s back leg is the further part to play Mee on side but the VAR line isn’t placed correctly on Abraham’s leg. Just nonsense

VAR - excusing the ref from always giving the decision to the big clubs since 2019

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Dyche seemed to accept it in his interview too. I wish the ref had to come out and explain decisions like that. Or the laws of the game that were applied. Looked to me to be clearly onside. We may still have lost, but goals change games and it may have been a different game had it counted.

The PC game, Like our defence, good at headers but slow to react
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
They said it was wrong decision on nbcsn then no further comment when they realized it was a fraudulent call. The camera shot used was not even in line with the offside. Burnley should 100% appeal. Won’t make any difference but might stop some of the vat nonsense. Every single decision of any importance went to Chelsea. It’s corrupt

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Pretty sure it’s Hendrick’s arm.
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Look at the 2nd image, it’s Abraham’s leg I’m talking about, why is the line not drawn there?

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
If VAR had not been in the game, the linesman may have judged by last year's rules and under last year's rules Mee was level and it would have been a good goal. This year, the rule is that the players can't be level so the linesman was presumably using his best judgement to decide whether Mee's toe was in an offside position.KefkaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 3:50 pmOk say VAR isn't in the game, the linesman still called offside. If VAR had been used but based on last year's rule, they could have had a single quick look and decided (correctly) that the players were level (under last year's rule).
VAR's big triumph yesterday was at Leicester. They can and probably will say that Burnley would have lost anyway. But a game at Leiceter, the home side scores a last minute equaliser that would have been a perfectly good goal last year, and VAR rules it out after a two minute delay. This is what VAR was invented for. The VAR people will look at Leicester's goal and feel happy that they have changed the game of football.
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
If McNeil isn’t in the shot how do they work out when he struck the ball? Are all the different cameras time coordinated? If VAR is proving to be inconsistent, which it appears to be, we may as well scrap it and just put up with linesman/ referee inconsistency.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Yeah the line looks really dodgy - just think that Hendrick’s arm is being mistaken for Abraham’s leg.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Woods arm is stuck out. Abrahams leg is also stuck out. Camera is behind the line giving a poor angle. Hendrick and Mee both clearly on side. Joke but nothing will happen not even an apology.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
I’ve added my own VAR lines.
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
If you look at the image again I think Riley is correct that it’s Hendricks arm sticking out and not Abraham’s leg, I agree with the rest though, the VAR lines were a farce again, seems like a system implemented to favour the big sides.
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
But at least VAR achieved its primary aim of disallowing a goal. Does it really matter whether they disallow the right goals, as long as they disallow as many as possible?
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Crooked effing conspiracy. The linesman had his flag up, when he is supposed to keep it down. No way could he be certain.
I assume then that despite it being onside, the linesman was not knowingly wrong, so not clear and obvious...so go with the crooked linesman. Ba stards.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Then there is the pen. Yes Lowton was stupid but Willian just kicked the ball forward and put his foot into him about 6 inches to the right. That is a ******* dive. Corrupt var officials.

It's really turning me off football.
They laughed when I said it'd be the death of football... well, they're not laughing now.
Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Then we have Avraham with the ball skimming or not skimming his head, after a giant leap.
Surely, he was interfering with play at the very least?
I think it skimmed too.

Re: Hendrick’s goal VAR
Doesn’t matter whether he was interfering, it’s whether he made contact. I think he did, but the pictures were never going to be conclusive so they had to stick with the on-field call.
