Yeah it's been great stuff so far.

Usually go and see this at Ally Pally, not seen any of it on the tv this year, just put it on at 5-3, good come back from Stephen so far.

What a match Maguire wins 6 - 5 from 5 - 1 down (barring snookers of course) abso-bloody-lutely brilliant

Just a shame Ronnie isn't in. IMO it's always better when he's playing.

Really impressed with the progress of Dave Gilbert in the last few seasons, looks like a world class player now and I fancy him to win this and maybe even the World Championship.

They have had a lot of Fly incedents this tournament and I have seen butterflys etc before but no never seen a wasp sting a ref ... the St Johns Ambulance girl sorted it though

It sounds like you're not aware of all the crap he's gone through with illness. And the way he reacted, it seems obvious to me that he genuinely believed the white hit it.

They should have used VAR ..

They should definitely have done a very quick replay. But I don't believe Carter tried to cheat. The reason being... it's easy to dismiss, as he didn't know they wouldn't do a quick video replay. If he was trying to cheat he'd have surely only done that when he was playing up for a snooker and claimed it touched.

FF, fully aware but understand why my response may have come across as ignorant. He’s just for me, a player who historically has had incidents like this, where his immediate manner doesn’t help him. He’d have been better asking the ref if he could possibly take another look but he was so immediately defensive. It has happened before. Accept your point though: he sure has had a tough ride and I’m glad he’s managed to make it back the deep end of tournament play.

Aslong as it goes all the way, I couldn’t care a less who wins. The Paul Hunter Trophy is beautiful though and a new name of it is always good for the game.

Absolutely. I like both players, and would prefer Carter to win, but it wouldn't exactly ruin my weekend if Bingham won.

Final frame decider, followed by Burnley extended highlights, followed by MoTD... you can't complain.

Some cracking snooker being played by Bingham now...

Carter has a gift from Bingham here and he needs to make the most of it.

It would be a strange one for Carter to win this, with him and Ronnie not exactly being the best of friends.
