Hi all,
with the unusual ko time on Sunday,I may be a late arrival (Bob Lord stand).
Is entry to the ground as normal when arriving late?
What if it's half time or later?
Thanks

I think one turnstile remains open longer than the others but if there are none open I'd just go into reception and explain the situation.

On the subject arriving late my mate years ago (70s) met me on the Longside 10 minutes late for a game (Wrexham I think) and he asked if he'd missed anything. 'Yeah', I answered, 'we're 2-0 down'.
'Oh', came the reply. The rest of the game was like watching paint dry.

Sure you'll be able to go in via reception, that's the route everyone in the 1882 Lounge use to get into the BL Stand.

There's a lad who sits further down than me in the Bob Lord who I'm sure has not seen a kick off in all the years that I've been sat there

Years ago due to business commitments I was very late for a night match, in fact the second half had just started.
Everywhere was locked up, so I went to the ticket office (the old one) and asked if I could get in, the lady was very helpful and walkie talkied (if that's a word) a steward then asked me to go round to a turnstile in the James Hargreaves where I was told the said steward would let me in. Sure enough he did and the cost to me was No Charge, result! apart from we lost 3 nowt.

from BFC match guide:

Turnstiles will open from 10:15am.

A late arrival turnstile will be open in each stand until half time.

Maybe a good idea landing late, sometimes the team don't show until the second half either :o

arriving late and leaving early is perhaps preferable at the moment, only trouble is, the seats face the pitch.

Why would anybody go into a stadium nearly 4hrs before kickoff?
It’s not as though there is anything to do inside

At an away game in the late 70s' at Notts County on a bitterly cold day we stood on the away end, wooden terraces in those days. We got to half-time with the score at 0-0. Mid way through half-time a couple of fans came to us and boasted they had got just got in for half price. Then the announcer said that the game would be abandoned because of the pitch freezing over!

Anyone remember waiting outside the ground at 4.20pm waiting for the exit gates to open? There were hundreds of us who had been playing in the local Saturday afternoon amateur football league. It definitely seemed to boost the atmosphere inside the ground for the last 20 minutes.

I remember leaving the Longside and entering the Cricketfield (just after it opened) for the last 10 mins of a match to enjoy the view from the new stand...no under seat heating was available! :(

I was there that day. Then for the rearranged fixture I wagged school. We lost 5-0.
