Accy Stanley
Anyone going tomorrow to get their Saturday fix ?
3 of us have got tickets and making the long journey to see Accy play Sulzeer Jeremiah Campbell's
Southend United.
Good weather predicted, so should be a nice little outing.

Re: Accy Stanley
I read that as you were going to travel to Southend for a minute, you'd have to be mad.
Haven't ever been to Accy to watch them play anyone other than Burnley, I just cant build myself up to care about them.
I probably would have gone along, if any of my mates or family went to watch them though as I enjoy football at that level

Re: Accy Stanley
I have a free Saturday anyway, my wifes on her annual January jaunt to the spa with her mates. I might go. Should be a win because Southend are currently possibly the worst team in the whole league (including league two). Even Bolton have overtaken them despite the points deduction and having no team for the early part of the season. For anyone who hasn't been Stanley is a good day out, affordable, with some of the friendliest fans around. Great pies, good beer and usually a live band on in the Crown next to the ground. What's not to like?

The griffin is meant to be excellent on Burnley road.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:37 amAnyone know of a decent place nearby for decent grub and a pint before the game please ?
Straight off the junction of the A56, you cant miss it, after the petrol station on the right.

Grant's bar in town does excellent home made Pizzas and Italian tapas. Also has it's own brewery if you like Cask ale.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:37 amAnyone know of a decent place nearby for decent grub and a pint before the game please ?
Peel park is a 15 min walk to the ground, decent ale and I think they still serve cisssy greens pie and peas...
Or the crown pub. Food is decent but obviously will be busy.

Re: Accy Stanley
Thanks for the info so far gang, much appreciated. Keep 'em coming. If you are going too and see 3 likely looking
lads (OAP's really) in the main stand, come over and say hello.
Be nice to put faces to names.

Not 100% sure, it's been a while since I was last there. Looked quite impressive from the outside when
we went for the tickets, but some or all could be covered terracing.

Re: Accy Stanley
Pretty sure the 3 home stands are all seated now, only the away end is a terrace.

Behind both goals are terraces. One home one away.claretburns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:29 pmPretty sure the 3 home stands are all seated now, only the away end is a terrace.
Two side stands are seats. The new stand can house both home and away fans

Re: Accy Stanley
The covered end used to be half seating, half standing but they took the seats out.claretburns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:29 pmPretty sure the 3 home stands are all seated now, only the away end is a terrace.
