The Goa Express (band)
Anyone heard of them?
From Burnley and played a session for Steve Lamacq on 6music. He's just played one of the tracks again.

Heard a track he played yesterday actually, hadn’t realised they were from Burnley. When it comes to promoting new talent Steve Lamacq seems to throw as much sh!t as he can at the wall in the hope that he gets lucky and becomes the next John Peel. Awful radio DJ.

Just heard the song, was impressed.
Hope they make it, as we've not too much of a history of bands, have we?

Been to a couple of their gigs around Manchester. They have a good sound live.

I've a bit of a soft spot for Lamacq to be honest, going back to the early 90's Evening Session/NME days. And he's never afraid to throw a Carter USM tune on for the drive home.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 5:23 pmHeard a track he played yesterday actually, hadn’t realised they were from Burnley. Steve Lamacq has a fabulous musical pedigree as a record label owner and with his background at the NME plus years on 6Music. He does come across as a genuinely good guy, but his voice has a similar effect on me as the sound of a dentist's 0.1mm drill bit going at full speed which immediately puts my hair on end so I just can't listen.
