Now is the time

Absolutely huge game this weekend. And while it’s not quite season defining a win will be just the tonic for the fans, club manager and players. And might just give us the gap needed to convince any players we are pursuing that another season at this level is upon us.

It doesn’t get any easier after Leicester and while Man Utd and Arsenal aren’t the forces they were it could look like if we don’t win Sunday we could go seven league defeats in a row. Unthinkable for a Dyche team and no teams have ever stayed up with such a losing streak.

Sunday the time to get behind Dyche and the team. This forum has been very negative and with good reason. Myself included. But Sunday the team need us as the twelfth man. We’ve seen before how much of a difference the fans can make. Leicester was one such example when the fans relentlessly sang for the second half a couple of seasons ago and we snatched an unlikely point.

And while things haven’t been great. Dyche has earnt our support. Even just three months ago there would’ve been uproar if he left us for a bigger job. So now the chips are down, we shouldn’t stick the boot in but get behind him.

That doesn’t mean questions don’t need asking, style changing and transfer policies reviewing. But negativity on Sunday will serve us no favours.

Now is also the time for the board to back him too. They’ve become complacent. And have been comfortable that we’ve enough this season going into next. Dyche has never been one to do major overhauls so with bodies needed now and many likely to exit in summer, this last week of the window is crucial. For this season and next.

Our stock is pretty much the highest it’s ever been. We are more globally known than ever. We are richer than ever. And it’s easier to stay in this league then get back into it. So with that in mind the board need to back Dyche, Rigg and come out with a unified and positive message. We are a proud club, cash rich, no debt with a reputation of developing players into international’s and established premier league players. Let’s start shouting that. Not that we are little Burnley with no power.

Hoping Sunday is our season changer. The fans can definitely ply a role. Let’s not be the club who’s fans turn when the chips are down. Let’s not do to Dyche what arsenal did to Wenger. We are better than that.

This man has earnt our support.

(Now!) Now is the time to set things right

(Now!) Now is the time we should unite
We don't need revolutions
we just need to open our eyes
Revolution is no solution we ought to realise.

I couldn’t find a shorter way of making the point. But if I had to it’s the manager and the players need the board and fans backing more than ever. And a unified positive message it needs to be.

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing-grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills.

A great and positive post cricketfieldclarets.
I'm sure the fans will do their bit and let's hope the players are up for it too.
Much can happen in 90 minutes that can change matters off and on the pitch.

Funny to think that had we beaten Villa and got up to 27 points
then most of the fears probably wouldn't have surfaced.

Nice words but daft using that picture. Those lads would do anything for each other. Proper team. This current team couldn’t get an equaliser at Brighton not once nowhere near twice. Nor the equaliser vs Boro.

Our current team doesn’t have the ********.

I think the picture reflects what is needed from the current team... I wish we had 9 or ten Phil Bardsley types tbh!

Good call cricket field. Let’s show that underdog Burnley spirit and get behind the team. I just hope Sean shows his fighting spirit. The Everton game was a low point for me. I feel Sean can be too negative and defeatist sometimes. Be brave and the fans will react in the right way.

In the main. But Tarkowski and Mee had a do at the fans at half time last time out and Woan at full time.

It’s starting to spill into the stands.

Negativity on here is fine. It’s therapeutic. But for 90 mins on the stands we need to be behind them.

Big voice needed tomorrow, to show the team we are with them all the way.

Just look at Eddie Howe! He is shot.
Don't want our team to lose their belief.

Up the Clarets.

Let`s hope it is today that we finally turn up, as by all accounts we have been dire for too long with no apparent light at the end of the tunnel. I haven`t actually been on here for a while so I`m hoping my showing up coincides with the Burnley we all know and love showing up with a performance that the players should demand of themselves. The 9 hour time difference has made it really hard to watch games live but after watching the Crystal Palace home game in which we were absolutely dire (thank the Lord the players ratings thread was down that day!) and then half an hour of the game against Newcastle (I just couldn`t watch any more of the depressing and quite frankly dour stuff) the decision was made very easy not to watch us live - and thank the maker I haven`t been.

We need a spark from somewhere...desperately, and my only concern is that unlike when we had the opportunity to turn to Heaton and McNeil (and to a lesser extent Barnes?) the last time we were in freefall, there is absolutely no-one, I fear, barring a big signing, that we have available who will have the same affect. Dyche`s hand, without doubt, was forced after the Everton Boxing Day defeat last season and he had to make changes. I feel Dyche`s stubbornness (the very good, the really bad and the downright ugly during his successful tenure), this time, will see us struggle to avoid being relegated. I truly hope I am wrong. Gudmundsson`s absence has been a huge loss for us, as has Barnes playing whilst injured but our non-beefing up of the midfield last summer was criminally negligent.

Hopefully...Cork will pull his finger out as he will no doubt be selected (he should have been dropped months ago) and Westwood rediscovers his best. I live in hope that our right-back situation resolves itself as Leicester must be rubbing their hands and sorry, Vydra should be given a chance (getting 10 minutes at the end of games when the team is already demoralised is quite frankly, ridiculous) as let`s face it, no-one ahead of him in the pecking order warrants automatic selection at the moment.

Here`s hoping for the best and the Clarets getting back to the team that everybody hates to play (not watch).

That win has set us up for an exciting end to the season, we have a pretty favourable run in aside from trips to the top 2. We are in top shape, playing some of the best football we’ve played under Dyche and with firepower to return from injury.

I know some fans won’t want us in Europe but I desperately do, I don’t think we were prepared last time for it properly and having squeezed through 2 rounds of qualifying I felt we didn’t playing anywhere near our best in Athens. Btw let’s not forget we get absolutely screwed with the 3 teams drawn, arguably the 3 hardest possible ties.

Imo any Premier League side who makes the Europa group stages has an excellent chance at making a semi final at least. Wolves won 4-0 in first leg midweek in the 1st knockout round.
