Team vs Leicester
How would you want to see us line up today?
..................................Pope.................................
....................Tarks........Mee.......Gibson..................
Hendrick.............Cork..............Westwood..........Taylor
......................Rodriguez........McNeil.......................
..................................Wood................................
Problem spot there being the right wing back, but when Hendrick plays out wide he’s generally just defending most of the time anyway so wouldn’t be too inept out there. Anything to show a different way of playing. If fit possibly even play Brady as right wing back given that he has played as a full back and a winger in his career all be it on the opposite side of the pitch.

Whoever we put out we'll get beat sadly
Re: Team vs Leicester
No real options due to injuries and lack of signings. Looks like we spent a ton getting DD to be fit enough to help save Villa. Hopefully not at our expense. Another defeat today I fear. Maybe just maybe we could nick a point which would not be the worst result in the world

Re: Team vs Leicester
This the best team and formation I think we could put together from the players available however it takes a lot of planning, coaching and training and this set up is miles away from what they are used to playing under DycheHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 10:41 amHow would you want to see us line up today?

With that in mind I think it would be suicidal to make such drastic changes out of the blue so we just need keep it tight as normal but focus on trying to get a lot of quick interplay between Jay and Dwight to put pressure on Leicester's defence

Re: Team vs Leicester
Pope
Lowton Tarky Mee Taylor
Lennon Cork Westwood Hendrick
McNeil
Wood
Bardsley and Gudmundsson in first Lowton and Lennon if fit.
Would love to see McNeil being given a bit of freedom to drift around behind the front man. He looks so dangerous when he drifts off that wing and comes central. So much of his energy is currently used up tracking back which I don’t think he’s particular good at and Hendrick could replicate this tracking back easily.

Re: Team vs Leicester
Nah, im not having that.
Leicester are a good side with good players, but they can be beaten. If we play to our best, and to our strengths, we can do something here.

Re: Team vs Leicester
I am not too bothered who he puts out today, but I want us to show that fighting spirit. Battle for every ball and don't give Leicester a single easy pass. We need passion.
I would like to see if he changes it up, but I think the starting line-up is very predictable.

I love the positivity on here
Re: Team vs Leicester
Thats it fellah ... you get behind the team with your enthusiasm and upbeat positivity.
Re: Team vs Leicester
I’m genuinely excited for the game today, I’ve been a bit meh before games recently but today I’m buzzing and feel today’s the day we start to turn the corner.
No matter what team he puts out I trust in Dyche and the players to have looked back on recent performances/results and to have a plan to move forward with the energy we had come to expect from our team.
Will be a tough task today against Leicester but I really feel confident of a performance and hopefully a result that will have us all buzzing.
UTC
My only real concern for the day is what time UTC will crash...

Re: Team vs Leicester
We tend to put in a performance when the chips are down, but the most recent time was the display v Villa. Hoping that can be discarded as a one off.
A battling performance with energy is what I'm looking for, points will be a bonus.
I'd like to see McNeil tried in the no. 10 role flanked by Lennon (Gudmundsson if fit) and Brady

Re: Team vs Leicester
You know we’re in trouble when the “play 3 at the back!!!!” is being rolled out. We don’t have the players to do that. Can you imagine for a moment trying to play Bardsley, Lowton or Hendrick at right wing back?

Re: Team vs Leicester
I disagree though I wouldnt suddenly switch to it mid season. With JBG out I see our biggest weaknesses that both right backs aren't good enough and we only have one decent winger who stays fit.
3 at the back would solve it and Taylor and Hendrick are our most athletic players well suited for the wing back role. I think giving McNeil a bit more attacking freedom would also be a big plus
Anyhow its a bit of a mute subject cos it would be madness to make such a drastic change and Dyche is't mad enough to do it

You look at the subs and realise that the starting 11 speaks for itself - and therein lies part of the problem

But that starting eleven is pretty much the strongest we have.

Re: Team vs Leicester
You could have named the team before it was announced, Changes are required but Mr Dyche seems afraid to make them, he is not ruthless enough. Which players would consider coming to Burnley when they are likely to spend their time on the bench or out of it altogether.

It is our best side
Has been our best side for two years now
But quite a few of this side are now past their personal best and should have been replaced

But there’s really not one player you’d change there? Well I wouldn’t personallylancastrian wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 1:25 pmYou could have named the team before it was announced, Changes are required but Mr Dyche seems afraid to make them, he is not ruthless enough.
