Probably helped us in the end. I think Taylor got wise to him.
He should have used his three "get out of dive free" cards when it mattered near the end.

Re: Maddison
Diving is I agree, but it’s being encouraged by refs giving fouls all the time when players simply fall over.
It’s ruining the game but if that’s the way it’s going you have to follow!

Re: Maddison
The Williams one where McNeil got booked was when I realised this is how the game is going.
McNeil never even touched him and he got booked for complaining.
I hate it but it’s now part of the game!

I thought Grealish was in another league to Maddison and should walk it with his England place. Maddison had nothing to add to his continual cheating, Grealish looks a top player.

Just like Grealish, has bags of talent, wonderful to watch on the ball, but ruins himself and image with his antics
Re: Maddison
Thought he was poor today. On the evidence of this season I'd put Grealish ahead of him.

I was looking forward to seeing Maddison. Good player not withstanding his antics. However Grealish is physically stronger and for me the more accomplished player.

Re: Maddison
The only thing more predictable than Burnley 442 was madison.
Dive at every opportunity to win a free kick. Or try cut on his right and shoot.
Almost as detestable as Vardy.

Southgate’s no mug, he won’t be getting in the team with his diving theatrics, needs to buck his ideas up that young man.

Vardy, Madison, Grealish, Dele Ali; and people wonder why I show little interest or support for the national team. As the great Barrie Taylor, philosopher and electrician said of the infamous Terry Leather living it up in Spain, "despicable people'.

Re: Maddison
Don’t really get the Barnes comparison. Barnes goes down under aerial challenges. He’s done almost the opposite of what most strikers have done, and learned how not to use his strength. He positions himself well, but doesn’t brace himself for the challenge so when the big centre half wins the ball it knocks him flying. He could and should be stronger, but he doesn’t cheat. There’s a difference between how players like Maddison go down when they make themselves go down. Barnes is clever before the challenge, whereas most players do it as a reaction to the challenge. Quite rightly many refs don’t give Barnes free kicks because they know he hasn’t been strong enough. But they don’t book him because the force of the challenge has genuinely made him go to ground.
Re: Maddison
You've got to admire the lad, it can take some players months or a year or so to get over a broken leg but he recovered from two or three within a couple of minutes.

Re: Maddison
Like Grealish you have to wonder if it’s a tactic from the managers.
Both good players who could effect the game a lot more if they stayed on their feet more.
