Who has seen Burnley win at Old Trafford
The last time Burnley won at Old Traffold was 1962. Before my time at away matches but 4 years after my first home game.

Re: Who has seen Burnley win at Old Trafford
My first Burnley game, like paulatky was 1958 but my first ever visit to Old Trafford was Dec. 1963, a 5-1 defeat after we'd beaten then at home 6-1 two days earlier. So close so many times but it's a ground I've never seen us win at.

Never the first team win.
Remember throwing away a 2 goal lead to get pegged back for a draw in the 60s. Was desolate a while after. I'd been there for the two 4-1 defeats the previous seasons.

Re: Who has seen Burnley win at Old Trafford
I went to the 60s 2-2 draw I remember leaving the scoreboard end just a little bit before the end to avoid the Stretford End thugs that used to come round didn't know the final score until we were on the bus and a lad had a radio. Even then they played until United got a result, nothing changes.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 5:19 pmNever the first team win.

I really thought we'd won that game.
Being the only Claret in the Schoolyard would have been bloody marvelous the following Monday.

Re: Who has seen Burnley win at Old Trafford
I have seen us win but as the writer says it was a long time ago. Saw us win at least 3 times in late fifties early sixties. Scored a lot in those days as well Won 3-1 in 58/9 2-1 in 59/0 4-1 in 61/2 and 5-2 in 62/3. Those were the days

They played Creek Alley by Mammas and Pappas before kick off I used to sing Big John Ritchie was getting kind of itchy to leave Stoke City behind. Anyone that knows the song will understand, they'll probably understand that I'm old ha ha

Yes, although I couldn't be there tonight, this adds to those other occasions before 1962.
Tonight was very special though because it was a great team performance! As Rowls says "What a night to be a Claret!!!!"

Me too now. The 'Theatre of Dreams' certainly made one come true for me last night. One of my proudest moments watching the Clarets. The lads were absolutely amazing and it was a night never to forget. Thanks SD.

As a kid growing up when they were so dominant and we were so. Well. Crap. This was unimaginable.

Re: Who has seen Burnley win at Old Trafford
Ha ha, of course we did.
It's something that I keep in my little black book along with my poems.
Edit: I could have sworn it was 1.1 but looking back at the results against man u away it must have been 2.2.
My 1st away game without a parent or relative was 25th November 1967. I went on the coach with my school mate Stuart Nuttall, we were 11.

That sentence could also work in the Terry Jones thread.
Re: Who has seen Burnley win at Old Trafford
Team in 1962 - Adam Blacklaw, John Angus, Alex Elder, David Walker, John Talbut, Brian Miller, John Connelly, Ray Pointer, Andy Lochhead, Jimmy McIlroy, Gordon Harris. What a team that was!
