Excellent Headline in The Telegraph

Post by upanatem » Thu Jan 23, 2020 11:06 am

"Manchester United fans cannot get out of ground quickly enough as Burnley heap more misery on Solskjaer"

https://uk.yahoo.com/sports/news/manche ... 19921.html

Some brilliant reader comments below the article. This one amused me:

'Poor result from Burnley... They really should be doing better against the smaller clubs ... 😂😂😂'

Yes, and it's all about (again) how bad Man U were. No mention of how well Burnley played.

Do you really care though? It would be so much fun if we could do a Leicester and then it could be remembered as the season where every team in the league were poor and we lucked our way to the title

Just a shame it will never happen :(

I read that article earlier Boss, the only embarrassment was Ferdinand himself, proper cry baby rant.

Still yattering on Talksport when I got back in the car.

One presenter said....
"Last week we were debating whether Burnley could go down. Never mind this, Man U rubbish about we're 5th, Burnley are just 4 points behind and they are 13th!"

Europe here we come!

Some comments from fans on BBC report online:- ;)

*Some Man Utd fans stayed right till the end in order to avoid the traffic.

*How embarrassing only scoring 2,Burnley must be gutted.

*Brilliant win and so deserved by Burnley. They ran United ragged and took the few chances they had. United had all the possession but again did nothing with it . Sean Dyche must be feeding his players on raw meat such is their hunger and desire. They are so organised and play as a team doing the basics so well.

*
De Gea £19m
AWB £45m
Maguire £80m
Jones £17m
Williams free
Matic £40m
Fred £50m
Mata £40m
James £15m
Perreira £0.1m
Martial £56m

Total: £362.1m
Losing 2-0 at home to Burnley – priceless

*Man Utd missed a glorious chance to narrow the gap to 27 points.

*The Liverpudlians will be in stitches of absolute laughter at this result. The mighty United rinsed at home by a small family club like Burnley. There is a God.

*‘Sean Dyche is out on the touchlines loudly clapping his players as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer slinks away into his race car seat in the dugout……’
What a pathetic arrogant manager, team, and club as a whole.
The great ‘bench warmer’ was so disparaging about Burnley in his pre-match interview, didn’t they get their comeuppance…..didn’t they just…Oh joy

*A 600 million pound squad losing 0-2 to Burnley. Take some time and let that sink in.

*As a Liverpool fan I would like to apologise to all Burnley supporters. Sorry this thread has got overtaken by Liverpool supporters. Apart from yourselves there is no one more delighted to see you beat the self proclaimed Best Club in the World than us. A great victory......well deserved. 👍 Fantastic hit from Rodriguez.....unstoppable.

I find it hard to believe that Solskjaer was disparaging about us.

Anyone got a link for his pre match interview?

Personally I like CT`s `Fire Drill~ comment in his report on Up The Clarets. Very funny. If you havent read his report you should.

Thanks

As I thought, not disparaging. Although I did like the subtle hint that Burnley have replacements for an injured player but he doesn't. :D

He's probably the only person at Man Utd in the last 30 ish years that I've liked. That's why I was curious.
