Lowton-excellent.
just a few words of praise for his game at old trafford , classy, composed, determined, a brilliant display.
only posting because of the pipeline of sewerage that
has been aimed at him in recent weeks.
so happy to note his gargantuan performance on wednesday night in manchester. I know it was a scintilating team effort, but he was top notch.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
Didn’t start great but you could see his confidence increasing the longer the match went on.
Good on him. He's been a solid club man for us and if he gets back to his best it’s a massive plus.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
He’s been excellent for us overall. And was last night. But for whatever reason the last eighteen months he’s been nowhere near good enough more often than not. And I’m a big fan of his.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
same with quite a few, but all those verminous /and pathetic pundits gradually had to acknowledge the football for once, instead of the usual "you know what you're gonna get with Burnley "
Rodriguez was similarly noteworthy, what a battler he proved to be, THAT goal was the icing.

It’s ever since I bought his shirt at auction. I’ve cursed him.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
I've started a few Lowton threads crediting him over the years but he was very very good second half last night. Distribution in the first half was dreadful but I'll put that down to nerves/confidence, once he settled he was top notch imho

Re: Lowton-excellent.
played like a man possessed
played like he didn't want to be relegated again
played like it meant everything to him
played like a captain
Got my MOTM vote and would have done regardless of his goal. For me, his better ever performance in a Burnley shirt

Re: Lowton-excellent.
At West Brom in their last year in the PL, Jay played exceptionally well against the top clubs ie Liverpool, United. Think he likes the big occasion
As for Lowton he proved he is a competent back up, lifted by a great team performance. Personally I put a real value on the aggression and defending abilities of Bardsley in preference to Matt. We do need a new RB for next season thoiugh

Re: Lowton-excellent.
At his best, Lowton's a vastly superior all round full back to Bardsley. He's a bit quicker so he's more effective one v one (saw that a bit at OT as the game went on), and his superior ability in possession and in attack make a huge difference to our possession football and attacking armoury.
He's been way below his best for over 18 months now, but the way he recovered and grew at Old Trafford after a difficult first 20 minutes were hugely promising. If he can regain his best form for us, then whilst we'll still need a new right back to replace Bardsley (given age), it won't half help the bedding in process.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
Mentioned it on the match thread, he looked a bit Nervy & flappy, early on.
He's had a rough period.
But he really grew into the game and, we had our old Lowt's back.
As said up the thread, he'd a particularly good 2nd half.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
Watch the Chris Wood goal. As Wood slides over in the corner celebrating Lowton is the first to reach him and says “Fu****** love ya” right down the camera.

Re: Lowton-excellent.
If he is to be replaced , Notts Forest have a rapid right back out of favour at the minute. Darikwa or something.
