Funny old game tomorrow
After a week of over achievement I have been trying to decide what I’d like from tomorrows game.
We lose, Norwich go through and I’d expect the progression to be a huge dent to their survival hopes.
On the other hand, we win and it’s good progression and about time for us to take the next step.
What I’d love is to see some of the younger players make their debut, rather than us rely on the 2nd 11.
Let’s see UTC

If either team wins and keeps winning, they'll have to play an average of a game a week for the rest of the season. I supposed they're bound to wilt under that workload.

I’d rather keep winning. It’s a good habit. League or cup. Did us no harm in 2009. And more often than not it breeds more confidence.
Let’s beat Norwich three times. Like we did sheff United in 09.

They usually say after the Lord Mayors show....
Also injuries to our lads, busy 6 days and our record in cups, could be the day to back Norwich if the odds are anywhere near decent.
I think we will be far from full strength, using a patched together side, players running on empty or not featured together much/ could be rusty.
But I'd like to progress, the busy schedule is gone now, plenty of rest weeks coming up, and we are all but safe IMO.
Nothing breeds confidence for players and fans more
than wins.

Always want us to win every game. These are professional athletes and fatigue shouldn’t be an issue. We have a stronger squad than we’ve had for a while and now we have got our confidence back. Yes I believe we can get the 7 or 8 points needed for survival and need to try our very hardest to progress in the cup.

I reckon now we have one foot in the Premier league next season we should try to go all the way.
Re: Funny old game tomorrow
From now until the end of the season we only have to play one game a week, which includes a winter break and an international break. No reason at all to make wholesale changes today or worry about players being tired. Minimal changes for me, let's keep the momentum going and have a good go at a proper cup run.
Re: Funny old game tomorrow
The problem is the forwards. With Barnes injured we really only have two who would start a league game. We don't want either of these two getting injured,or all the good work of the past week could be for nothing. I'd give them both a rest, and if we get beat, so be it.
Re: Funny old game tomorrow
They could quite easily get injured in training though. Maybe start one of them and give Vydra a game?Grumps wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 9:53 amThe problem is the forwards. Wish the lottery was as predictable as Burnley are in the cup...

Thankfully couldn’t get my paddy power account reopened to put us on at 100:1 which I really wanted to. Bloody deluded.
