FAO cricketfieldclarets
It is around four months since I last viewed or managed to post on here.
I have just logged on and the very first thread I see is how badly our Club is run etc etc started by cricketfieldclarets.
Nice to see that some things don't change.

Great results last two league games
Top striker
Right manager for the club
My sentiments all these last few weeks
But criticise our lack of interest in cups at my peril or the UTC mafia will be out in force.

Where does he say the club is badly run?
I’m delighted, for the most part, how the club has progressed over the past 7 years under Dyche, but I can still feel aggrieved at how we have performed in the cup competitions.
It’s perfectly acceptable to make that distinction, and Dyche has to accept the justified criticism for how he has handled the cups.
Shocks happen all the time, but consistently being dumped out by teams 1/2/3 leagues below us indicates that we do treat the cup games with contempt. You can’t say otherwise.

He's only stating a fact. Anyway, everyone is entitled to a bit of a moan once in a while, but it's not healthy when they turn into a chronic complainer and a bit of an Eeyore.

CFC posts both ways. I just take it he’s angling for a debate, or a catch. A long way from our regulars who never post a word of good about the club. In good times they just stay offline.
Good to have you back, TY. Better days ahead, I hope.

Re: FAO cricketfieldclarets
It does seem you aren’t allowed to post anything that questions the club anymore, I thought message boards were to debate the good, bad & ugly and have a laugh together.
You barely ever see a post that’s calling for the manager or chairman’s head, I often have a glance on other teams boards, I think some would have the shock of their life’s if they think our boards negative

Yeah cricketfield, how dare you be concerned at a single aspect of the club.
Use your time more wisely and read those accounts pal.
Some say during the cup games are a great time...

Maybe everyone should just have exactly the same opinion about every subject, and just agree with each other all the time? That would make for an interesting message board.

Well maybe some of the complaints about today, those stating that the club and/or the manager being happy to lose today’s game will point to which previous club manager and chairman/board had some outstanding FA Cup record that I’m unaware of. Apprentice glory hunters I think.

1914 winners
1947 losing finalists
1962 losing finalist
1974 losing semi finalist
A history of reading the semi-final, last four, 4 times in 106 years.
Sean Dyche is really letting the club down. NOT

They're just doing their jobs. Part of journalism is getting a quote, so they've got to ask questions.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 10:35 pmI don't blame him.
If you ask a silly question, then you can expect a silly answer.
They're paid a fraction of the salary he's on, and I don't think they deserve to be spoken down to like that.

Yes of course 1961, my apologies, so 5 times in 106 years. Also between 1960 and 1962 we could justifiably argue that we were one of the best two teams in the country. I don’t think we could say the same about us at the moment.
Re: FAO cricketfieldclarets
This is exactly what the problem is some fans. Always looking back on history as some kind of measure tonwhere we should be today.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 10:29 pm1914 winners

It’s like bringing up Orient over and over. We can have an awful season in the PL, but it doesn’t mean it’s okay because of Orient. It doesn’t been it’s ok to be not interested in winning a cup because we haven’t won that much in our history.

Re: FAO cricketfieldclarets
To those saying where were the cup runs all these years? Are many forgetting we were dreadful for neigh on forty years.
We are the richest we’ve ever been. With the deepest squad we’ve ever had. And had some of the easiest draws we could ever have had. And still treat it with contempt. Dyches post match interview treats it as such pretty much saying ‘I’m not bothered’
To put it in perspective. When we got beat by Lincoln it’s the equivalent of when we were at our worse in division four getting beaten off a team in the ninth tier. Barnoldswick town for example.
Sure upsets happen. But to have constantly underperformed in every cup every season shows the club don’t give a crap.

How many cup games have had that of late? Even Europe was a damp squib. Istanbul we didn’t have a shot. Aberdeen we couldn’t beat in 180 minutes and then knocked out after resting our best players in Athens.
