Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Be interesting to see what happens here. I wouldn't be surprised if Vydra leaves and we keep Wells, extended his deal, and sell him in the summer.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Hopefully on his way to Bristol as a makeweight first Brownhill.
Suits everyone, Nahki goes to a better club in a nicer city, we fill a position we need and get a player with no future here off our wage bill.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Nicer city? I think you'll find Wells is pretty happy in London, and lots of pro footballers want to live there.
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Just because a player plays in London it doesn't necessarily mean he lives in the city. Bad for their lung capacity, what with all that smog.

Comment from Lee Hoos:
Hoos told www.qpr.co.uk: “Burnley have recalled Nahki which is their right.
“I wouldn’t normally make any comments regarding potential transfer targets but in this instance it is important our supporters know we are keen to sign Nahki on a permanent basis.
“Our current valuations on the player are far apart and we cannot agree to a deal which will leave us in breach of FFP.
“We are working hard for a positive conclusion but we must ensure any agreement is financially viable for QPR.”

Wells that's Eze solved then ( puns intended)aggi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 12:47 pmComment from Lee Hoos:

7m and Wells for Eze and you can even keep Eze until the summer, it keeps him playing.
Pocket 7m and offload Eze wages to help comply with FFP, might even be a couple of quid towards another player too...
Anyone got Lee's number?

I wouldn’t expect Wells to be here by the weekend. Were we not planning to sell him I’d have expected him to stay at QPR.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
He’s probably concocting some retainer/voucher offer to lure us in.
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Drop him a quick text asking how much for that Eze fella you've got.
I hope you've got an article or 6 prepared.... busy week ahead
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
I think clubs that are interested in him, interest him, unless you are suggesting he has always had free rein to pick where he wants to play..in which case some of his choices have been quite interesting.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 12:43 pmThis is a bloke who has played for Carlisle, Bradford ,Huddersfield and Burnley...Im not sure glamorous locations particularly interest him

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
I hadnt thought about it that deeply to be honest...
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
I suspect they (QPR) feel the only way to get it done would be a player exchange, not sure who they have that would improve us though?MACCA wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 12:57 pmWells that's Eze solved then ( puns intended)

I think this comment on Twitter from a QPR fan is amusing:
"Dear lord, what a sad little life, Burnley. You ruined our season just so you can sell Wells. I hope you can spend the money you make on lessons in grace and decorum. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on."
Bless him

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Surely, on his current form, we should just keep him. From the cameos we’ve seen from Vydra lately, he isn’t going to make it. An extra useful striker is needed perhaps more than anything else.
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
I like the look of Eze, ticks all the boxes for me.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 1:47 pmNot the QPR player we’ve been linked with though - that’s Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Think he will only get better and go for more silly money.
Not heard or seen much of BOS, so not sure what his stregths etc are
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Unless we bring in another striker given Barnes' injury and time to bet match fit we could be in deep do do if Rodders or Woody pick up an injury as Vydra in the cameos I have seen is not the answer whereas Wells is match fit. Unlike in 2017 when Wells was out of action after a fracture in his foot which kept him below par for several weeks made worse by not being played.
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Looks fast and tricky....and woefully one-footed...ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 1:47 pmNot the QPR player we’ve been linked with though - that’s Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
With Barnes out and Vydra out of favour, unless we are bringing another striker in (highly unlikely) then I wouldnt be selling Wells.
Then again he is very much in the Vydra bracket when here.
Strange signing at the time. To be honest, Wells should be allowed to decide on his future. He cant afford us to let him stagnate when is stock is as high as its been and he is playing, scoring and enjoyng himself.

I think he would be OK as back up now he has played for well over a season at QPR

Just seen tomorrow’s fixtures, shame this couldn’t have waited until Wednesday.

No way Eze will be interested in Burnley. Spurs more likely in the Summer

Get him on against Arsenal!!
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Out of the two, if we’re keeping one for cover, then it has to be Wells. At the very least he is in form, fit and confident.
Vydra just needs moving on ASAP.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
From what I've seen and it is admittedly very little of either, I would prefer to keep Wells and sell Vydra. At least in his cameos Wells has looked interested and full of energy which is more than can be said of Vydra.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 2:32 pmWith Barnes out and Vydra out of favour, unless we are bringing another striker in (highly unlikely) then I wouldnt be selling Wells.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Would it not be good to use wells to get Eze/Brownhill. And then loan Vydra out to a championship side - where he will score goals as wells has done, to increase his value. We could always recall Vydra I’d all our strikers got injured.

Wont be able to recall anyone once they've signed a loan deal.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 3:03 pmWould it not be good to use wells to get Eze/Brownhill. Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
Nixon reckons a Russian club are after Vydra but their window doesn't close until the end of Feb so that is problematic, we wont sell both
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
The problem is, Eze doesn’t seems to tick any boxes for us from what Iv seen he plays in a free role, not particularly good in the air and doesn’t work hard he’d be a bit of a liability.

A QPR fan not taking Wells recall to heart
Re: ARTICLE: Wells back with the Clarets for now
What is it about Wells’s game that means he hasn’t had a look in ? I saw a brief cameo where he looked reasonable but others may have seen more.
