And this due to his mental health problems as I understand matters; physically OK but out of the game a long time with his Mental Health issues and his retirement at 29 suggests Billy is still suffering.

Sad situation, but a brave decision from him. I hope he can find happiness in retirement.

Sad news indeed. Hopefully the lad continues to receive the treatment that works for him

Be nice if Burnley and Stanley could get together for a testimonial next year pre season

I met him many times locally, really decent lad and I wish him well. Hope he gets himself sorted.

Nice idea.

Kevin Long testimonial, could split the proceeds to Mind and Billy Kee.

Would serve as a half decent local friendly too!

Same age as myself. Obvious issues with mental health and I for one wish him all the best and hope he finds peace whatever he decides to do next.

All the best to him. Some things are more important than football/work.

That's a brave decision and hopefully the right one. Good luck to him and his family. Mental illness is a scourge that should never be under-estimated. I would definetly support a testimonial on his behalf.

Is there any chance at all that we could make this happen? I would love to see it.

Don’t want to appear flippant but would Kev Long play in his own testimonial ?

That’s sad to read. A top player for Stanley and at that level. My nephew met him on Burnley market and recognised him. Had a picture with him and said he was a really nice guy.

Went to watch Stanley a few times when we weren’t playing and he scored and the fans loved him.

Hope he manages to sort himself out and have a long and happy life and whatever else he chooses to do.
