Trippier views on SD
From article on BBC Sport:
"Obviously you've got some good managers: Klopp, Guardiola... Sean Dyche! You've got quality managers out there but he's certainly up there for sure.
"[Burnley boss] Sean Dyche is a brilliant manager. From the first day he walked in [Trippier played for Burnley from 2011-2015, initially on loan] he sorted my career out basically.
"From when I was young, stupid and going out, he just sat me down and said 'no more'. Unbelievable manager and I loved playing for him and, who knows, one day I might get the opportunity to play for him again."
Praise, indeed!

Re: Trippier views on SD
It's TRUE. Hes a great manager and great man manager.
Often limited by constraints put upon him and occasionally too stubborn. But a great manager.
Look at How Trippier and Ings, Heaton and Pope, Keane and Tarkowski all absolutely flourished under him.
And Mee, Arfield, Boyd, Marney, Vokes, Barnes all massively exceeded any expectations.
And most of all. Getting Joey Barton to buy into it and be a good lad.
It's frustrating at times.
But mostly excellent and it's almost all down to the manager.

Re: Trippier views on SD
Tripps and Dyche get on really well. No wonder though, he really did turn his career round to the point where he'd become a top class Premier League right back who then went on to represent his country.

One of my favourite memories of Tripps is seeing him leading the celebrations in front of the fans after our win at Deadwood.
Great stuff.

Re: Trippier views on SD
Agreed. There was definitely a point where he could have been tempted by the bright lights of Burnley and ended up in with the wrong crowds. Wouldn’t have been the first one. But thankfully both Ings and Trippier saw the bigger picture thanks to Dyche.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 11:25 amTripps and Dyche get on really well. There are very very few stories you hear about our players outside of the team. Which is a credit to them and the manager. And obviously why Drinkwaters game time here was severely limited after that incident.

When asked for my favourite ever Burnley player I always say Tripps and Robbie Blake.
Has he actually been getting in the Athletico Madrid first team of late ?

Re: Trippier views on SD
Trippier has made reference to playing under Dyche again 2 or 3 times since being at Spurs/Atletico.
Hopefully we get to see Tripps come back for an Indian summer in a couple of years when his Atletico days are winding down - that would be superb.

Re: Trippier views on SD
Tripps has had groin surgery, hope he's fit and well in time for selection for England and the Euros
