Showing as sold out on the BFC ticket page!!!!!
2 hours after being released to season ticket lolders with 4000 points.
I can't believe it. We've done every game so far this season and this has taken me by complete surprise.
Any idea how many we took and if we might be getting any more?

I’d keep checking back. I suspect they need to release more tickets for sale online which they will do in the morning.

No idea how many we took tho as the club for some bizarre reason aren’t telling us.

I know they’d sold more in the 6000 point bracket than they expected to.

Still no idea on total allocation though

They’ll be stocked back up again tomorrow. They have a limit online and then they stock it back up first thing.

We won’t have taken the full allocation that’s for sure. Reckon we’ve taken 1,500. The club will have based that figure on how many we took to Reading on a Tuesday night in 1986 or something daft like that.

My number is 1268 at 5.35pm.

Think Norwich took 1500 tickets for Saturday just gone. Hope we've not taken the same 3 blocks.

If they have you can’t blame em when we don’t sell out for Man Utd or Everton on Boxing Day!

Even if we have taken a reduced allocation I imagine we can ask for more as Newcastle won't fill the area unoccupied by us however, it is then down to the club to take the gamble on any unsold tickets which I imagine going off the first few days sales will be small.

I don't know how Newcastle do it but once within four weeks of the game there is no obligation to offer further tickets

That might well be it. Didn't sell the smaller allocation at Everton and we'd almost 1,000 unsold for Man U although I'm not sure why we went for the full 3,000 there.

A request has been made for a further allocation of tickets. If we are able to secure the additonal allocation, we will update the news article on how you can obtain these. The loyalty points schedule will continue at the point where it sold out, in this instance, we will go on sale to season ticket holders with 4000 points
On official site now.

Nearly 40 years I think. Amazing that it wasn’t felt we would sell out for this one, it may have deprived loads of fans of a long awaited trip to St. James’.

Mine arrived in the post today but I sympathise with others.

Over the years I'd be the first to agree that the club hasn't got ticketing right, but it beggars belief that people are criticising the club for this one. When fixtures are announced two standout away games would be boxing day and Man Utd and we sold out for neither. The latter will have cost the club money. Its the biggest problem with social media, and not one restricted to football. Shout your mouth off without checking or considering the facts first.

Why is the club bothered about losing 20k in money with unsold away tickets every other week when they bring in players like drinkwater on loan at 50k a week costing about 650k and never playing them lol

The stand out for most was Sheffield United which we sold out easily.
Then Newcastle with it being the first Saturday game there for years.
Norwich will be popular with nobody going there for years and a bank holiday.

Old Trafford would of sold out Saturday 3pm, but midweek at 8.15, no thanks.

We have never travelled well to Everton. Only sold out once due to being a tenner a pop.

This is the first Saturday in years with a 3pm kick off for a game most want to go to, on pay day, after the expense of Christmas etc...was always going to be a sell out. If the majority of tickets go to those with 6,000 points then the next tier then fair enough.

If you can't get a ticket and they don't go down to the loyalty points amount you have then its just tough really.

That said, the club should have released an allocation. After Old Trafford though its no surprise they won't want to take the hit on any unsold tickets, not that I think there would be any.

Don't think it's looking promising for anymore tickets. It should be fairly straightforward, either Newcastle have started selling them to their own fans or they haven't?

Sheffield United didn't sell out easily. They went to general sale. Newcastle is pretty much twice as far and we've been there several times previous years. If people want to pick and choose their games and be inconsistent with when they buy away tickets they can't then turn around and blame the club when the club can't possibly understand what makes our fans buy for some games and not for others. Simple fact is they make very little money from selling away tickets and when they ask for more than needed it costs them far more than they make.

Newcastle is an attractive trip, a good city with excellent pubs and amenities. The New Year's Day fixture 2015 must have sold out 3,000 tickets but I am possibly biased, I live there!

I would be tempted to agree with that, and my criticism on this occasion is only a minor niggle on behalf of other fans and doesn’t affect me.

However, this falls into that notorious area of striking a balance between fan’s interests and protecting the bottom line at all costs, an area where many of us have had big concerns for some time.

We are in a phase at the moment where we are in the Premier League and many cannot get to attractive games, either due to the allocation, altered kick off times or having to budget carefully. For some of us, this will be the only chance of getting to a game at one of the “great day out” cities.

I’d like to see the club consider carefully what allocation to take after fully assessing the likely demand, not just automatically being cautious, which they may or may not have done (e.g. I would like to know if the main supporter groups were contacted first to get the “vibe” from people as to their interest - if they were, I’ll take my hat off to the club, but I’ll predict they weren’t).

One was on New Year’s Day and the other 2 midweek matches. Schools arent open New Year’s Day and knock off at 3, you could have made it easier than most.

Why should the club risk losing tens of thousands of pounds just so people can pick and choose games.

They don’t always get ticketing right, far from it and I’ve been critical in the past but for this one they can’t be blamed for taking a reduced allocation.

Crikey, I was 13yrs old and went to that game on the viscount Central coach from Accy with some of my family. They away end was just a small open end behind the goal.
They had Kevin Keegan and Imre Varadi up front, and I think they beat us 3-0.
We got our revenge on the Turf with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Terry Donovan goal, but sadly we still got relegated.

Did they though, I remember it being a little disorganised with fans not really knowing what was happening.

I’ve thought about it further now.

On your account there could be an option to “express and interest” in away games, so a tick box on the website etc. Once you tick the box you commit to buying a ticket when they are available subject to availability and a ballot for when the last few are available in the final category. There will be a facility to not take up the purchase, but should you do that for any game after ticking the box, you lose the option for the rest of the season (Or perhaps a two strikes and you’re out scenario). This would enable the club to know how many tickets are wanted for each away game and fans could plan a bit better.

Or maybe the club could get advice from certain representatives of a supporters clubs? Fans who go to pretty much every game have a far better idea which games will be popular, as opposed to someone sitting in an office who may not even be a Burnley fan.
Surely it doesn't take a genius to realise that Newcastle away on a Saturday afternoon for the first time in over 30 years is going to be popular?

Teachers have easy days, they turn up at 8:55 with the children and wait in line to finish at 3:15, plus you get loads more holidays than the rest of us hard workers! And you get free school trips
