Most boring window ever?
The usual Burnley window. Dont think we ever expected much more than what we got this window.
But the window in general. Particularly dull. Are clubs fed up with it themselves now? or with Liverpool being so clear has that affected it with the likes of City and Spurs not bothering to chase them?
Even clubs at the bottom seem surprisingly quiet though.

Re: Most boring window ever?
I think its finally dawned on most people that you pay a 30 to 40% premium on players in this window.

Agents should be banned. Parasites. It costs every club in the country.
Maybe we all should have an agent?

i dont agree. They are a necessary evil. But perhaps more regulation and transparency.LoveCurryPies wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 10:56 pmAgents should be banned. Parasites. It costs every club in the country.

Always going to be like this. The big teams realise they can’t catch Liverpool so no point in spending and that’s the ripple effect.

It’s a period of time where clubs are permitted to trade players. It’s not supposed to be exciting, and if you think it is you have fallen for the Sky Sports claptrap.

Re: Most boring window ever?
Can’t say it particularly is for me. It can be mildly entertaining at best. I just find the idea that a transfer window can be boring to be comical. What happened before transfer windows? Did we describe whole seasons as boring because of a lack of transfer activity.
Sky Sports have made an event out of it and it’s funny to see how many buy into the hype. Ooooh, breaking news, Sheffield United have signed a person that no one has ever heard of to play football for them - how exciting.

Just because you don’t find it interesting doesn’t mean others don’t. Not sure why the idea others do would be comical or amusing. We’re all different with lots of different interests.
If I’m not interested in playing chess, I don’t log in to a chess message board and be like ‘oh how amusing that you all like chess, you’ve all fallen for the grand master’s claptrap’.

I didn’t say I don’t find it interesting. I find most parts of football interesting, which is why I use this messageboard as pretty much my only form of social media. I said that transfer windows aren’t supposed to be exciting - which they’re not.ksrclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 11:51 pmJust because you don’t find it interesting doesn’t mean others don’t. If you expect them to be exciting then you’re likely to be disappointed because they are just a period of time where players are allowed to move from one club to another. I won’t apologise for finding it comical that people expect that to be entertaining.

Re: Most boring window ever?
It is no surprise when 6 of the 7 clubs (including 4 of the big 6) that have reported on last season's accounts have reported a loss - though I expect Spurs and Liverpool to post profits
Re: Most boring window ever?
There are (it seems) three reasons to get into football.
1. To see how much money your club earns.
2. For the excitement of transfer windows.
3. To watch what happens on the pitch.
To judge by so many posts on here recently, there is much room for doubt as to which is the most important.

Happy we’ve not bought someone connected to Stoke for the first time in ages!
