He was also blathering on about it not being watered for some reason. It's rained for most of the last few days FFS.

How many white English players did Arsenal have? Why have they stopped recruiting white Irish players?Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 8:38 pmThe last post is implying Dyche is racist as we only have one black player on the bench. Re: Arsenal Forum In Melt Down
The problem I have with clubs like Arsenal are that they're portrayed as invincible by the press - a belief also held by the fans on the forums.
One headline, I think it was the guardian, states JRod 'fluffed his lines', yet goes on to waffle about how unfortunate Arsenal were. There was a little mention of Burnley here and there, but not much.
Yeah, Arsenal played ok, but were outshone by Burnleys work ethic and desire. Yes, JRod hit the post, but Arsenal didn't and also didnt score, so surely Burnley did better in the game? That's not how most articles are written.
No one likes us, which is sweet when we give the lovies of the media a good game became they really seem incapable of knowing what to write!

The managers comment that the pitch was too dry.... The first time in football history a pitch in Burnley, or the whole of Lancashire has ever been criticized for being too dry in February, unbelievable comment

Perhaps Arteta and his bunch of softies should have played in the days when t'Turf was more like a quagmire this time of year, rather than the Billiard Table surface that his team need.

So the grass was too long, yet dry?
A good job it wasn't wet then as otherwise it would have got even longer, quicker.

I'd be terrified of the future if I was a Gooner. They have no direction, no identity on and off the pitch and their disgraceful hounding out of Wenger is blowing up in their face. Mass exodus in the summer too if they don't qualify for Europe, then who knows?

Re: Arsenal Forum In Melt Down
I don't think Arsenal supporters are any different from any others. Most of them look to the glory days of the invincible era.
Since then they have lost the soul of their club, sold their old stadium to move to 'just another pringle' and competing for mickey mouse cups each year compared to the champions league.
Not graceful in defeat, but if I was an Arsenal fan knowing the money some of their players are on, I'd be very concerned with this season too.
It was inevitable there would be some kind of sloop since Wenger left, just the same as Ferguson at United.
They have a wider fan base and a wider fan base results in more message board idiots.

It's so reminiscent of Utd losing Ferguson and finding that suddenly, almost overnight, they lose their direction, they start signing very average players for stupid money, the dressing room is no longer water tight in terms of unrest and rumour, good players start dithering about signing and it's almost as if the ONE person who was actually holding the tiller has let go and the ship is now lurching about. Wenger was doing a Fergie, but most there couldn't see it and tbf SD is doing a very similar job for us.

For the kind of money Ozil is on he should stand out in games. He doesn’t and didn’t. They’ve got plenty of annoying fans but you can tell most of the idiots on phone ins and being abusive in the media watch from their armchairs.

Ozil HAS to be the most overrated player in the PL. He's absolute bobbins and yesterday wasn't the first time he's been totally anonymous before being hooked mid way through the second half and when the announcement is made about 20,000 people all turn to each other and say I hadn't realised he was playing.

My favourite in game fun these days is seeing if the oppositions physio's actually get off the bench when their player is on the ground.
It's becoming rarer and rarer that they even bother.

Must be hard if you’re an Arsenal fan - imagine coming to Burnley and not scoring a deflected handball winner in the 99th minute.

Re: Arsenal Forum In Melt Down
Do you think Artita might just have realised what an absolute tit he has made of himself (or maybe even one of his assistants might have mentioned it quietly to him?) Surely the wider football world, outside of Arsenal are quietly chuckling at him. He's blatantly come out and randomly blamed the state of the grass for his own (average to poor) team's failings. Yet again one of the "big boys" can't cope with the fact that crappy old Burnley haven't turned up, rolled over and gift wrapped 3 points for them and the dummy comes out. Having said that we have to remember he's had a very good teacher for a number of years I'd suggest.
