Arsenal punch - 1st half
I’m amazed this hasn’t been referred to on hear.
Neither Sky or Match of Day showed the incident (or discussed it).
I was convinced an Arsenal defender (think it was Louis) punched one of our players out of frustration as the ball was being cleared upfield.
If it did occur then surely it will be reviewed Mon/Tues by the authorities and be considered for retrospective punishment?
Did anyone else see it?

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
It was a punch to Cork round the chest/stomach area I saw. Surprised VAR didn’t have a look.

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
Exactly...striking an opponent is a sending-off offence and they should have been reduced to 10 divers in the 1st half.
Who refers the matters to be considered for retrospective punishment...especially if it’s not shown on TV highlights?

Guendouzi on Cork.
Not sure if VAR deals with these sort of incidents.

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
If it's seen as a potential straight red card VAR can review it,2nd yellows can't be reviewed, seems a strange anomaly to me,but there's lots of anomalies with VAR,hopefully the teething problems will be ironed out by next season.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 11:31 pmGuendouzi on Cork.

I heard a VAR check as Arsenal we’re breaking in the first half, but I wasn’t sure what it was for... maybe that is what they looked at.

They certainly broke after it happened in the first half, I remember thinking whether VAR checked things like that if they scored

Most of the Cricket Field saw it, my son did, I didn't!AshevilleNCClaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 1:25 amAnyone got a time estimate on it? Nbc sports has full event replays.... i could look for it
My guess, it was half way through first half.
Just outside the Arsenal box at the Cricket Field end.
Our attack was broken up and Arsenal started to push forward.
We still can't see the whole game here, so if you find it can you post it?
The fans around me were livid.
Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
Saw it from the Bob Lord stand. Just thought he'd pulled him back.
Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
It was very much off the ball so probably wouldn’t have featured in the live feed. I’ve no doubt a camera picked it up but if the live coverage didn’t address it and didn’t show a replay I doubt tv pictures will be readily available.2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 8:39 amMost of the Cricket Field saw it, my son did, I didn't!

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
Agree with that.
It was some way off the ball, as the ball had been cleared and they were both racing back down the pitch.
The only reason I saw it was because sat in the JMU, so looking down the pitch - although hadnt realised it was a punch, thought it was just a pull back

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
Found it.
It was far earlier in the game than I thought.
8 mins 28 secs. into the first half or about 10 mins 20 secs on Clarets Player coverage.
It was picked up by the main camera. Both Phil Bird and Andy Payton saw it and commented on it.
Quite a swinging punch by Guendouzi at Cork, and he catches him, seemingly in the face.
Outrageous that wasn't VAR'd.

I would if I knew how.
Clarets Player is free.
Or can you not get it where you are?

Looks too strong to be associated with Arsenal.
Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
Just watched Skys coverage they don't comment on it... but it was blatant2 Bee Holed wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 2:23 pmFound it.

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
What a witch hunt. Clearly you haven't watched the above video clearly enough.
It's quite obvious that Jayrod uses some form of hypnotic mind control / invisible whip to make Cork fall over. He throws his arm down and in return Cork flops to the ground.

Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
Guendouzi had the cheek to make out we were a rugby team after the game
Re: Arsenal punch - 1st half
I thought, from the way folk were discussing, that it was just one punch but he is hitting him over and over again...every time Cork tries to get up! Surprised we did not all see this attack, at the time!claretblue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 3:13 pmsurely retrospective punishment from FA?
