Re: Wuhan
Once you've decided to eat other species, I've no problem with which ones you choose to eat. It's more the sub zero hygiene rating that would make me shop elsewhere.

Re: Wuhan
As it is suggested that all of the world’s pandemics stem from such disgusting places, perhaps it might be an idea for the Chinese government to get rid of them.

Watching that made me feel physically sick, and I've been to China, Japan, Korea etc several times on business.

Re: Wuhan
I've been to some weird and wonderful countries and eaten some weird and wonderful food. But fk watching that video. Or eating what they eat out there. I've never been that big a fan of chinese, only usually get it or go to one if everyone else is. And that's the stuff here that's probably reasonably normal. Just full of sugar and msg.
I've a ridiculously strong stomach and open minded as anyone. But I'd not be eating much in china.

Re: Wuhan
It's a good thing to find a the humorous side of most things but this just isn't at all funny. Every year we have to cope with the latest flu strain that emanates out of China. The 'Spanish' flu of 1918 came from Northern China and killed between 20 and 50 million worldwide. Even the bubonic plague originated in China, travelling along the Silk Road before reaching Crimea in the fourteenth century. It killed a third of all Europeans. It is thought that this is because so many Chinese peasant farmers have always lived in such close proximity to their live, and dead, livestock making it likely that viruses can pass from animal to human more easily. Others even live like this in apartment blocks. To see this market scene in such graphic detail is, perhaps, one of the most disgusting things that I have ever witnessed and, if this does lead to the overdue worldwide pandemic, the Chinese government should be held to account for much more that gross negligence in allowing this to happen.

I’d guess that in part leads to his point on hygiene. And I imagine his view is if you can eat a chicken. Why not a duck. Or a dog. And that killing it is as inhumane as mistreating it.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 11:15 pmNot ducks rammed in a box or dogs and cats in small cages then.
Okay.
Not how I’d necessarily view things but can understand why people do have that view.
