Paddy McGuiness
Is there anybody as talentless as this guy who has stole a living?
Katie Hopkins is of course another, but it really is a head-shaker.

Re: Paddy McGuiness
Nothing of any purpose. He's being paid £500,000 per series of Top Gear, yet knows the backend of naff all about cars and isn't funny in the least.
It just goes to show, to make a lot of money you don't have to have any intelligence whatsoever.
Re: Paddy McGuiness
Oh dear!
Re: Paddy McGuiness
Well I’m guessing he must be pretty clever to tag on to Peter Kay....and not too daft to carve out a very lucrative career for himself after that.
Maybe not as daft or talentless as people think eh !
Let’s not mention him in the same breath as Katy Hopkins either - those comparisons need to be saved for Griffin, Robinson, Hitler etc !

Re: Paddy McGuiness
Well Top Gear has been going downhill for years, Paddy is affable enough though and can at least read an autocue, Flintoff on the other hand is painful to watch as a presenter.
I like Chris Harris though, they should pair him with Tiff Needell instead of Flintoff.

Re: Paddy McGuiness
McGuiness - dreadful imo but some young thickos like him on that dating programme. I would just turn over immediately if that came on or anything else with him in it.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 7:39 pmIs there anybody as talentless as this guy who has stole a living?

Hopkins - is she anyone’s cup of tea ? Dreadful individual.
You don’t need talent to become famous. Fame at all costs for some individuals. Look at the talentless individual’s on the likes of ‘celebrity’ Get me out of here, big brother, love island etc You’d think to get into media work or broadcasting you’d need to be able to speak properly or have some wit or something about you but look at Bob Mills, Peter Crouch, Neehal ... the list is endless

Re: Paddy McGuiness
Clarkson, Hamster and May pulled it off. And they got away with it not always being about cars, but having a good laugh - and it was. It was a great TV programme. The worst thing the BBC ever did was sack Clarkson.
I do like Christ Harris though. He's the only one with a bit of class on there now.

Re: Paddy McGuiness
I was bought a ticket to see him live at The Arena about 3 years back. He was utter rubbish and simply not funny in the least. The only time I laughed the entire time was when they re ran a sketch plus the outtakes from Phoenix Nights on the big screen during the interval. And that simply highlights the fact that he has sponged a living on the back of Peter Kay all along.

Re: Paddy McGuiness
Perhaps its his Bolton accent that people are laughing at, it's certainly not his humour or his jokes as he's not funny, maybe he's not supposed to be funny I don't know.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 7:43 pmNo as he's got a talent.
I seem to remember Paddy McGuiness doing a gig at the Mechanics in Burnley and people were shaking their head at how bad he was. Even worse than Derek Acorah.

Peter Kay carried him. And - get this... I saw in the paper that his wife might be on one of those dancing shows. Strictly or Dancing on Ice... that's a double back carrier!

I acknowledge I'm a grumpy ageing tw*t, but if there's one thing I get proper narky about it's these "celebrities" who are only "celebrities" because they happen to be related to one. Exactly just how stupid are the British public??? And don't get me started about "celebrities" going all over the world on road trips using BBC licence payer's money and actually taking their relatives along for the ride! Utter bollo**s!!FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 8:43 pmAbso-bloody-lutely.

Re: Paddy McGuiness
Max and Paddy was really funny - and as far as I can remember McGuiness played one of the lead roles !
Of course Peter Kay gave him his break just like he did with lots of other people - but out of all those actors / comedians etc appearing on Phoenix Nights other than of course Peter Kay nobody has gone on to have had more success and make more money than McGuiness.
I don’t like Top Gear or the dating thing - but millions seem to and he keeps on getting his contracts renewed - and none of that is down to Peter Kay.

That’s the end of the thread, right there.
Barry came close with McIntyre, but how tv makes room for the useless, talentless, pointless, brainless southern oik that is Gemma Collins will remain a constant mystery to me.

Because of the success of the 3 new presenters and the hit they appear to have been according to viewing figures Top Gear is to take its place on BBC1 for the 1st time ever

I've no problem with Paddy and his vacuous show
Hes no worse than talentless profession Geordies Ant and Dec ,now their is a couple of no marks who have "entertained" the nation for years. There is a whole host of presenters who got started by lucky accidents most with little natural talent.Vernon Kay being another that springs to mind.

Don’t see the problem with Paddy McGuiness at all. His brand of humour is popular and remember it takes a clever man to play the fool.

Strange the fascination on here with a fairly mundane, jobbing TV presenter. Find it hard to imagine how he'd stir much of a response either way.
Anyway, good luck to the lad, made a decent life for himself with what he's got, surely that's all we aim for.

Re: Paddy McGuiness
For a basic talent Paddy Mc has had a very well paid prime time career. All the Peter series /max n paddy etc , that god awful date show thing must have run for 10 yrs now , he’s on tv commercials, the Keith lemon stuff ,and gets a lucrative top gear gig etc etc . It’s about being able to present to camera , being mildly amusing ,playing the fool ( never as easy as it looks) and being laddish ,he ticks all boxes rather well tbf

Agree. I don't know what people want from these 'talentless' presenters. Re: Paddy McGuiness
He's good at what he does which is present fairly low brow TV shows, I simply just don't watch them but I have no problem with him earning a living through it.
Re: Paddy McGuiness
The OP as already mentioned has an irrational hatred for Paddy McGuiness.
He thinks he’s intellectually above him and other people on this board - yet regularly decides to start a thread debating that learned scholar and philosopher P. McGuiness - he was going to choose Dostoyevsky but stuck with PM.
Muchacho is serving another of his regular bans now for libellous comments he made another thread which were complete and utter lies.
When he’s served his ban we can look forward to a new topic on Duncan Norvelle.

I might need my tin hat here but I genuinely think Gavin and Stacy is brilliant. Some of the subtle comedy is genius and the characters, like Bryn and Pamela, are hilarious at times.

Clearly there are people (like yourself) that do, otherwise they wouldn't have got famous, however I don't actually know anyone, friends, family etc. that say a good word about him!
