Great Burnley tackles in pictures
A good tackle gets the crowd going as much as a goal, on occasion.
Anyone want to add any?

You could be forgiven for thinking that Duff's was a shocking foul from the evidence of that photo

It probably was if you were to apply the rules strictly.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 9:26 amYou could be forgiven for thinking that Duff's was a shocking foul from the evidence of that photo

Bertie Bee's tackle on the streaker was.a.classic. Thankfully the grass was.long so it cushioned the blow.

Love a good tackle but not sure it's tasteful showing ones that put other players out injured.

Brian o' Neil's sliding tackles were worthy of the entrance fee alone.. Can't find any pics though.

Our Brian didn't take many prisoners Covered in mud from head to toe, with the angelic look of "who me?" after he'd almost taken the opponents feet off by the ankles.....priceless.conyoviejo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 7:00 pmBrian O'Neil's sliding tackles were worthy of the entrance fee alone.. Loved Duff on Di Maria
Re: Great Burnley tackles in pictures
It was the 2-0 half time score against Preston. The Burnley fan ran across the pitch to 'bend over' and remind the Preston fans of the score. On his way back to the Bee Hole End Bertie Bee intervened, the rest is history...dougcollins wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 12:11 pmAs we said at the time 'why has he got 200 written on his backside?'.

Re: Great Burnley tackles in pictures
Not one for challenging someone slyly. Anywhere on the pitch for Brian. In the late 60's we played Man Utd. under the lights at Turf Moor in a League cup tie and Brian 'challenged' the revered Bobby Charlton in the centre circle. Up in the air and flat on the ground in a split second. Brian knew the whole ground had seen it and was prepared for whatever decision the referee thought appropriate. Just a booking .......... Charlton was hurting a lot more than Brian and hard to think that both young men grew up just a few miles apart in Northumberland.exilecanada wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 7:30 pmOur Brian didn't take many prisoners Covered in mud from head to toe, with the angelic look of "who me?" after he'd almost taken the opponents feet off by the ankles.....priceless.
